BTW, Carsen lead the Celtics in rebounding with 8 and and in assists with 6.

Player of the game at halftime: Yam. He got the Celtics in the game. His defense is crazy good.

Player of the game: Pritchard. He had a really good half half and finished with 23, 5 and 5.

Romeo looked solid. He changed his hair style at half time for some reason and looked leaner.
Big 3 point shot from the corner late in the 4th to give the Celtics the lead.

Nesmith was ok.

Carsen looked jacked. He had a solid game. I didn't like seeing the small lineups. Carsen needs a chance with another team.

Hauser missed shots he normally makes. Not sure why people are on him about his defense when he had to swift off several times and guard the 5'11 Cooper. Of course he is going to get beat off the dribble.

I might be the only one that didn't like Begarin too much. He looks more like 6'4 than 6'5 and looks a like overweight with little muscle tone. He is still 18 so he can be stashed for 2 or 3 years.

I would still like the Celtics to add Caleb Martin or Niguel Hayes.

As long as they don't sign Schröder or another PG, Edwards should be pretty well positioned for his last chance season.

As for the game itself, most encouraging thing for me was seeing Madar's floater game. He's still going to need time to get used to playing against better athletes in the NBA. I wish they added a big man with a legit chance to land on a big league roster. PnR game was pretty non-existent.

Madar has a chance to be very special. I see his ceiling as a Tony Parker with better defense. But for that to happen, he needs to continue to improve his outside shooting. He defense and passing is already advanced for his age. But if he can't become a really good shooter, there is no chance of him being anything close to Parker.

He was listed at 6'4.75 without shoes for what its worth. He did look "big", but he still looked pretty agile out there defending so it didn't appear to slow him down. Like I said reminds me body wise of Jae Crowder a little.

I don't know the way he was described I expected the guy to show up and dribble the ball off himself or something, so he exceeded my low expectations. As i said I liked his passing.

He's definitely not going to be here this year, but I think he's a nice flier longer term. Given the Celtics recent talent drain it would be nice to hit on a 2nd rounder even if just a rotation guy. Yam has a shot to do that as well.

Thought Nesmith and Romeo were bad. Edwards is a waste of time, Pritchard shouldn’t be in the summer league and Yam and Juhann should stay in Europe for another year at least

If the Celtics send Madar back to Europe and keep Carsten Edwards they are out of their minds. Can we do without smurfs, please?

Carson actually had a nice game although It’s too little too late. Yam looked good but he’ll do nothing sitting on the bench all year so he should absolutely play one more season overseas.

Carson is also on the books for one more season so might as well let him play it out or try and use him as trade filler.

Hopefully this is a last-ditch effort to “showcase” Carsen’s talents so that someone will trade us absolutely nothing for him. Look, as someone said, he had 8rbs and 6asts so he’s “not just a shooter!”

Someone take him please oh please (it’s not happening).

some truly garbage takes from Pritchard haters lol. So funny looking back in these threads. "not a playmaker" "doesn't elevate his teammates". Too funny. He'd have double digit assists if people hit the shots he set them up for. He should be starting.

Some thoughts:
Payday Prithcard is pretty amazing. He looked like a ten-year veteran out there among boys. I hope he continues to develope, and can take over the starting PG position before long.
Yam!!!! Not much more needs to be said - the guy is for real!!!
Edwards - Wow, even though he acutally put up quite a few points, I still cringe every time he walks on the floor. Whatever guy he is trying to cover, suddenly looks like an all-star out there. In spite of a better than normal outing for Edwards, I still really want to see him let go (just go ahead and give his spot to Yam).
Langford and Neismith - some good moments, some not-so good moments. Need to see more of them during the Summer League before making up my mind.
The other guys - nothing really stuck out. Some guys had a few bright moments, but really nothing I saw gave me a lot of hope that we found another diamond in the rough.

I think Juhann should go overseas for one more year.
I think Yam should play in the NBA now than another year overseas. He's better taking Edwards garbage minutes. His passing was fun to watch.
Obviously, PP should sit out the rest of SL.
Nesmith and Langford are ok.
Do not care for the other players.

Watched highlights and glanced the box score.
Pp yam and juhann look like keepers albiet yam and juhann first action I've seen so hopefully they play consistent. I was curious about the Lawson's but one didn't play and the other started and washed out early. Our defense could be scary this year.

Yeah. Carsen played a good game. I don't know what's in store for him, but he can ball a bit. Can he stick with the Celtics? I don't know. There are plenty here who would like to buy him a bus ticket out of town, but I am more ambivalent. If he continues to play well he should earn a spot on a roster somewhere. On the Celtics, though? Anyway, good effort from Carsen.

I feel this needs to be said now and once and for all be addressed to the posters who DON"T have a strong like for PP.

If you compared PP to Smart and potentially Denis Schroeder, you would find that Smart is a better all-around player and certainly defender. Schroeder is a better penetrator. But PP is, possibly by far, the best knock down shooter of the 3. In fact I don't think it's a stretch to say that PP's single greatest asset is he is the ultimate "make you payer" in doubling up the Js and may potentially be the BEST shooter Boston has had since Ray Allen left.

My comps are when Jordan had Paxson and then Steve Kerr as backcourt teammates. No one had Paxson and/or Kerr ever in the top 20 PG list. Yet their strength was exactly what Jordan and the Bulls needed more than anything.

+another point is what player is the all-time leader in playoff wins?? It is not Lebron, Kobe, Jordan, T Duncan but rather Derrick freakin Fisher. (or at least he was upon retiring) what did he do best?? Knock down shots.

Today Seth Curry makes a living doing just that. If you look at Seth's game and what PP can provide, it is clear that PP can potentially do more that Seth. While PP won't ever make a living in the paint, he takes good care of the ball, can make solid reads and perhaps is the best alley-opp passer we have. RW + PP are electrifying together.

Today's game served as a reminder, that PP's threat and Galactic range alone from 3 may be more valuable than even so called better PGs in Smart and *Schroeder to Boston.

Conclusion.

An individual's abilities is not the true measure of player's value, but rather Fit + ability + need combined. With that said, please try to see PP for what he can be with Boston rather than any perceived weakness he may have. The case can be made that PP should be considered for the starting job.

Edit D Fisher is now 2nd behind Lebron.. point still stands
