VSL is where lead guards dominate because there's poor team D and young bigs who aren't disciplined. As such, no shock to see Carsen, PP and Yam lead the way. I was glad Yam was efficient and effective in his first taste of NBA competition.

Nesmith really just needs to shoot well. It's as simple as that. High energy, like his rebounding but if he keeps shooting 5/14 it's all moot because he's useless as a ballhandler and passer.

Begarin stole the ball! He stole the ball! Begarin stole the ball!!!! If only the legendary Johnny Most was here to see it.

Pritchard might never be a playmaker but he's an elite shooter so he's going to provide value.

Madar is fearless and fancy. I love Begarin's size. He looks more like 6'6" than 6'5" for what it's worth.

Madar was great….but he didn’t look NBA ready. I don’t think he has the NBA necessary size and strength. Hope I’m wrong because he can pass and shoot and competes.

Begarin is definitely NBA material …. Not sure how good he can be. Will see in a couple of years after stash.

meanwhile for the comments on Nesmith. :nonono: :banghead:

Trae Young's 23 percent shooting was worst in Utah among players who appeared in all 3 games and logged at least 30 total mins.

And Steph Curry shot 32 and 34% Pct in his summer league.

I don't think any of our summer league players become max players.

Most 19 year olds need to add size so I’m not surprised, however he played vs grown men last year and didn’t seem to have problems. He’s got the speed and his hands are pretty quick. I don’t think it would be too difficult to put ten pounds on, which would put him at Prichard’s size.

Yeah. Carsen played a good game. I don't know what's in store for him, but he can ball a bit. Can he stick with the Celtics? I don't know. There are plenty here who would like to buy him a bus ticket out of town, but I am more ambivalent. If he continues to play well he should earn a spot on a roster somewhere. On the Celtics, though? Anyway, good effort from Carsen.

He just can’t show any consistency, same issue in college. He needs to see a couple go in to warm up and when you’re coming off the bench you don’t have that luxury. I think it’s time for a change of scenery, but I wonder if they can even move him for a protected 55 at this point.

TGhe biggest thing I have come to hate about summer league is that Edwards gets so much opportunity.

We already know he will never be a positive NBA player. Terrible Efficiency, has blinder on a majority of the time, gives up as much as he gets.

What we dont know is about some other guys, like Yam, who should be getting more opportunity. Hopefully that will come.

I would make that deal. Sheds another 1.8 mill off salary too.

I would GLADLY make that deal.

I would trade Carsen Edwards to any team that would take him for a Top 59 protected 2nd round pick. I would also give the other team cash equal to Edwards $1.7+ million he is due this year

Oh blow it out your ass BCGM.

Ask your archrival Hal14 what side I've been on in the Pritchard/Madar argument. I've been all about Pritchard. And in the same post you cherrypicked for the stuff you didn't like, I actually said that he would've had a double-double had he been on the floor with better talent. He's got nothing left to learn in Summer League. He's better than the other guys there and he's more consistent. In what way am I "hating" here. What I'm saying is that he's not an "on-the ball, break your man off the dribble" playmaker. That's not what he does. He's a complementer, not an amplifier. That's not a slight. It's why he works so well with the Jay's and why he's going to fit so well next to Al Horford. Pritchard makes other players look good, not the other way around.

You need to drop this passive-aggressive bull**** that marks so many of your posts. I promise you, you are punching above your weight class. Do yourself a favor and have a seat.
and that's "MR. Irrelevant" to you!!

I think you gotta add a little extra $ to sweeten it, but you’re on the right track. Add someone a foot taller with that spot.

He looks like a good player. Almost a perfect fit here. Damn that Kemba contract. There were many good players available at 16 this year even though I am not sure the Celtics would have drafted them.

Pritchard gets the VC. No contest. He was a man among boys. The Stash Brothers had their moments, but didn’t prove ready to be unstashed, especially not Begarin. Romeo hit a big shot to seal it, but was definitely a mixed bag. Carsen pushed the ball, hustled, hit some shots, took a bunch of bad ones. In short, he was Carsen. And also in short, he’s short.
