Dragic's value is staying for the year and seeing if he adds to the culture. Then he is free to go where he wants. It is conceivable that he is part of a bigger deal but I won't hold my breath for such a deal this year as 30 mil players tend to be older.

I'm not insisting that he is traded, just that if he was traded during this offseason, we'd be looking for more then just a 2nd/expiring. If we are asked to take a 'bad contract' an additional better asset (prospect) would need to come as well.

The fact that the Raptors IG account isn’t following Dragic tells me they’ll likely trade him soon.

There are many reasons to think Dragic will eventually be traded, but that isn't one lol. I highly doubt whoever is running Toronto's socials is keyed in that much with potential roster moves. There are plenty of people the IG account follows that has absolutely zero affiliation with the Raptors and I'm sure there are a few others aside from Dragic that do/did have some connection with the Raptors but isn't currently followed by the IG account.

still find it interesting that dragic hasn't mentioned toronto at all. i am assuming they are still discussing trading him and/or precious to another team.

Pretty sure the trades can't be official until the league is done their investigation, hence no official announcement from the Raps.

"Welcome to the family" aka hoping we can make Precious part of the core.

"Welcome to the squad" reads like Dragic is a merc, so don't get too attached.

I know its early but we really need some size. See if we can sign Hartenstein with our remaining MLE or Bi-Annual, cut Freddie G (since Precious makes him redundant imo). Maybe look to flip Boucher for some scoring help (sign and trade for Josh Hart?)

Not necessarily. My understanding is that team salary for the tax isn’t calculated until the end of the regular season so the team would have plenty of time to make transactions to get under before then.

Some rotation questions to be answered if he stays. If the goal is for Barnes to play with bench mob, and to play a guard role, then how will minutes translate?

FVV/Flynn
Trent/Barnes/Dragic

Or they start Dragic and move Trent to backup 3, which will allow Barnes to back up Dragic at the 2.

FVV/Flynn
Dragic/Barnes
OG/Trent

the ladder is likely the route they go. Then just deal Dragic at the deadline for assets

It says warriors, clippers, and kings all are enamoured with adding Siakam to their teams. BUT raptors are not likely to trade him because apparently Siakam wants to stay in Toronto even if we’re rebuilding.

Remember, this is a Sacramento newspaper. Who works for the kings? Siakam’s trainer and his staff. Could have been the source.

Siakam likely staying on the team this season.

Warriors trade where we get kuminga back would have been nice but oh well (side note if a kuminga trade happens we have to wait a month because he just signed his contract).
