Kai Jones has had some eye popping passes and drives to the lane, I had no idea he had this court vision

I was really down on him but with his motor he could end up being special

There's a touch of edge in Mobes that I can't wait to see supported by some months in the weightroom.

Mobes will benefit heavy this first year from Garland and Rubio.

Also was my first time seeing Sengun and I liked what I saw.

15 pts/15 reb/4 blk/3 ast for Sengun + 1 TO/3PF

23 pts/5 reb/2 ast for Green

12 pts/5 reb/3 blk for Mobley + 5 TO/4 PF

Green obviously played well, but I'm getting that major Lavine/Booker/Beal kinda feel. This is not a good thing.

What's the negative vibe you're getting from Green?

Sooo many fun young players in this draft/summer league. Pumped to watch them develop over the next few years.

cade did not like he could get to the rim using his explosiveness or craft at all. He also kept picking up his dribble when a big man came up to challenge him in the paint. Took some ugly floaters too

Cade looked alright. Shot will come. Defense looks decent. Struggled athletically against NBA athletes, but maybe a bit rusty.

But I got to say people hoping that he can play point in the league must have been and will still be dreaming.

Cade's terrible sub 1 ATO in college was a giant red flag in his projections as point forward. I will claim here once again that Cade doesn't have the talent to play point in the league. Even Westbrook's ATO rating will look beyond elite compared to Cade once his rookie campaign is over. This kid is an SF with some secondary ball handling skills as a 2nd/3rd option; he is not a franchise cornerstone lead guard/forward like LeBron/Harden/Luka that you want him to be.

Luka Garza was fun to watch. He looks even slower now even though he slimmed down a lot. Don't know how long he will last in the league. Don't see how he can ever play with how slow he is.

Unless of course that the Rockets sucked enough (likely) again next year to draft Banchero or Chet or someone else that totally make sense with him.

Yeah I think Green's style is very hard to sustain in a high level playoff game is kind of the general problem with that ilk of player (if they can do it then that makes them Kobe or Jordan though.)

I'm a bit surprised how good his shot look though, especially the way the ball went through the net in some of them.

Sengun look like he'll be in the league as long as he's healthy. the dude balled the shite out of it (and with how bad the rockets might be next year he might set a rookie rebounding record heh. )

How could you come away being anything other than impressed with Greens performance? He’s freaking mesmerizing out there. Probably just a bunch of salty Pistons fans.

Relax bud, no one said anything bad about Green in the thread. No need to try and create a non-existent narrative with anybody's fanbase.

I'd say the median take is that he's probably an all star as long as health hold up? that's pretty high for any rookie this side of Lebron, the big question people have that's obvious premature is that the type of player we've seen that's kinda in Green's general comparison has been just short of the "carry a team deep into playoff consistently if not outright title contention" which is in reality, no real shame since that's actually a way higher bar than people realize.

I think people really don't realize that the bar of guys who you are comfortable of carrying most half-competent team into at least the second round is probably only 10 guys in the NBA at any given moment at best, and given that at most time the NBA is populated with players from at least a dozen different drafts, (with the actual really good guys holding on to almost 20 years) it's a REALLY high bar, like only one every 2 year on average high.

From what we’ve seen he looks like a super efficient 6’5 Iverson. His athleticism is elite elite. That kinda player is what I would call special.
