I mean Lauri is looking to get paid. The Pelicans are talking about offering him $17M per. The Blazers are all kinds of capped out. Who would you have them send back: CJ, Nurkic, and/or Covington? How would they better after that?

DJJ+? If Lauri will take 15M in a better situation (I would argue Portland is a better fit) give himself a 3 year with a PO (3/50 with 3rd year being an option) DJJ + pick + Simons.

You gotta find some bench guys, but I would rather have that problem then looking at Faried/Beas, Millsap etc to be a starter (or going absurdly small)

You're just a lot higher on Lauri than I am. I think he's a problematic fit on the Blazers roster defensively. He needs a certain amount of touches/looks in order to offset his defensive limitations. I'm not sure Portland handing him $15M per over three years *helps.*

Lillard needs a real scorer. Lauri can fill that need. Cost is relatively low and if you are worried about the cap, then you are going to be happy as a pig in slop with 2nd rate starters and Dame leaving.

OKC owed Horford 41M total...
They owe Kemba 53M...

So they traded Moses brown, a second and 12M for 2 future 1sts. not bad

Well, there is also the difference between what they owed Horford, and what he would have taken in a buyout, but the string of transactions definitely make a lot of sense.

Is it illegal what NY, OKC and Kemba did?

If OKC granted Kemba and his agent the freedom to see what else was out there, and NYK only talked to Kemba after receiving that permission, then no. It would be legal.

If they (Walker & agent) went through channels and got permission from OKC to shop for a new home, I don't see what is wrong.

Since Boston had to deal with OKC to move Walker, Presti very likely realized that the market for him was relatively dead and that the OKC roster for 2021 -22 wasn't going to be strong enough to put Walker in a favorable light for a flip in the future.

Not sure, but I think that the Lakers gave Deng permission to talk to Minnesota about signing him before he agreed to the buyout. So if it was good enough for the Lakers and Minnesota, then it should be good enough for OKC and NYK.

we got a second from Boston too ;)

We needed to spend some money anyway so basically using cap space (Kemba and Favors) for 3 FRPs

I'm confused, where's the second 1st coming from? Also, they have over $40M in dead cap. That's a lot of dead cap.

People keep combining flipping 16 for 2 distant protected 1sts.

Luka agreed to his 5 year supermax. Take nothing for granted. Off-season officially a win for Dallas.

Not that it was a doubt, but still a sigh of relief.

I;d still like to see a breaking new, KP traded alert in the near future. But that's looking less and less likely.

Suns signed Elfrid Payton. As a Knicks fan all I can say is, when you go from CP3/Cam Payne to Elfrid Payton on the court it's going to be ugly.
