I have no issue with Bembry because I have seen first hand how much of a dog he was when he played for the Hawks. I just want Marks to add one additional shooter to the roster, preferably at forward.
For me, I wish we could bring back either Tyler Johnson or Mike James, a stretch 4/5, and a rebounding 5.

I don't know how much it would cost to send out DJ, but I wish we could've attached a pick to move him in order to bring in the aforementioned players.

Considering that we drafted 5 players despite having a championship caliber core, either Marks is convinced that these youngsters are ballers who can help us immediately or no one was willing to take what we were offering for DJ. If these draftees, especially the 1st rounders aren't good enough to contribute, I'll blame Marks for not bringing in a cheap veteran in their place, who can bring value right now.

Word is that KD put the kibosh on the Deandre thing. probably harden/Kyrie too. Harden and DJ are boys and Kyrie/Jordan have a beyond meat type investment together.

if DJ is the cost of the big3 it could be worse.

Harden was using half his energy coaching Deandre on the court. I doubt he would have been sad to see the back of Deandre . It’s more Kai and Durant who stopped Kenny from playing Allen . I doubt harden has any emotional investment in Deandre.

Bembry is a hustler. Scraper who will create loose balls and defelections . Will get the 50-50 balls. Will do all the non attractive basketball plays that are called wining plays. Good get. I still am worried about the rebounding . Sharpe will help but he is a damn rookie

Harden is super close with Jordan, they run a pro-am together and i believe harden is in on the beyond meat thing with him too. There is a difference between on court telling your firend he needs to do better, and not liking the guy

Why are you worried about rebounding?

Those animated discussions never devolved into anything negative either. I've seen KD give Kyrie that same kind of energy during a game where he was not into it and it woke Kyrie up. If you're friends you can come at each other differently than you would guys you don't really know like that.

Harden and Jordan also teamed up to provide aid to Houston residents during the winter when the Texas power grid went to sh*t.

Just wanted to point out not fully guaranteed at the start of the season, so you never know what happens

I mean in the bucks series and pretty much all year the offensive rebounding killed us. The Nets defense had started to improve greatly as the season went on. The Nets initial defense was starting to generate bad shots and missed but what killed us all season and ultimately in the playoffs besides the obvious injuries was teams were feasting on second and third chance points because the nets were struggling to secure the defensive boards .

Rebounding (or defense) did not hurt us in the playoffs or the loss to the bucks. They got second chance points, it didnt matter. We still limited them offensively. The benefits of going small/switching everything far outweight the benefits of putting better rebounding on the floor. and frankly, it isnt close (which is why teams dont value rebounding anymore and why PFs dont exsist anymore).

Celtics killed us on the glass. We dominated them, and really boston having tristan thompson on the floor hurt them, despite all the offensive rebounds he got. The data is there and its clear. for all teams, not just us. the only teams that play for rebounds are the teams that have no choice or missed on better free agents and the only thing left for them is to go big to try compensate... but those teams end up being awful.

Also, Rebounding is less about centers and more about forwards. Did you know that Centers end up defending jump shooters more then any other position? It is true, and the reason is because of switching offenses use picks to iso centers. so centers end up defending on-ball shooters. This means, your center is in rebounding situations on jumpshots LESS often then anyone on your team. You could have a great rebounder at center, who still gets 10+ a game, but your still seeing a ton of second chance points because he is on the perimeter when jumpshots are taken (longer jumpshots are more likely to result in offensive rebounds then paint attempts).

If you want more rebounding that means playing KD at SF and replacing Joe Harris with a big. Which we can do now, we dont need to add size to do that. we can go:

Harden | Kyrie | KD | Blake | Claxton or Johnson | Blake at PF/C

Either way, it wont happen. your PPP differential will be significantly higher going small and living with 2nd chance points then it will be going big and living with mismatches, less spacing, less shooting, etc...

Again, the numbers are overwhelming here. it is why no one plays a PF anymore and centers are udner 6'10"
