damn that sucks he got the short end of the stick in terms of height. If he was 6'3 or '6'4 my guess he would have been a sure fire lottery pick.

your picks look pretty good, even with taking SL with a grain of salt.

1) It looks like the better bid is not always enough to sign the player. Does the simulation decide like NBA2k? For Instance, a single $10 bucks bid should not be enough to sign Lillard. Even if it's the only bid for him.
2) If all the bids are too low to sign the player, will the bids be "erased" for the second round or the player could accept the better bid after some rounds? If the bids are still "alive", it looks like the player cant use the money to bid another player. Would the money be locked in the "pending acceptance bid" until the player signs with you or another team?
3) How does the FA rating impact the bid? Does the simulation decide? Is it only for draws?
4) At the answer time after the first round, the commish will tell the higher bid for every team in the "consideration range". Will be disclosed the name of the higher bid team and their FA rating? Will the higher bid noticed that there are other bids? Will be given the higher bid the opportunity to improve his offer (even if he does not know the other's final offers)?
5) Is there a max salary?
6) Regarding birds rights, I read the team can use birds' rights to go to 10% above cap space. I thought it would work like this. Assuming $1030 is the cap space, there is a $103 bonus to sign birds rights players. So, the current salary works as Cap Hold. For instance, assuming I have 2 birds rights players Lillard 400 and Fournier 100. If I re-sign Lillard for $500, I could use up to $100 in birds bonus to reach that amount. But I could not offer more than $3 in Birds Bonus to Founier before I get Hard Capped. The amount of bird bonus used would be counted only after the "moratorium" period". If the team does not use all the cap space, they don't need to use Birds' bonus.
7) Why everybody keeps posting Summer League Real Players performance on this BAF topics instead of Summers League? Am I the only one who thinks it's off-topic and makes the hard to look for info.

mpharris36 wrote:We already have a lot of BAF threads we can't create one just for summer league. People are posting summer league highlights on BAF because they are there BAF players they just drafted so they want to rep the players they just drafted.
Since the SIM ratings are based off real life performance many people post highlights from there players in the thread. It's not really off topic at all.
Bish already has a main thread that only he posts in it's the team.page. It has rules, free agent lists, and that is where he will update FA signings.
This thread is for everything else.

Like I said above, no such thing as to low for a player. Market dictates the players value. If 29 other teams can't beat the offer than the player will accept after the time period is up regardless of the offer. Teams can only offer what they have available to them capwise. If a team has $100 in capspace and leads on a player with a $70 bid, then they only have $30 remaining to bid on additional players until there bid is beaten or accepted.Richard4444 wrote:3) How does the FA rating impact the bid? Hopefully answered in #1. The sim isn't used at all in the offseason. It is all done using our FA list.Richard4444 wrote:4) At the answer time after the first round, the commish will tell the higher bid for every team in the "consideration range". FA is completely anonymous until the player signs. You will know if you have the high bid because I will tell you.
I will also let you know if your high bid gets beaten in a subsequent bidding time. If you are within range, I will tell you the number you need to beat to take the leading bid. Other than that, no one will know who is bidding on who.Richard4444 wrote:5) Is there a max salary?
Max salary is whatever you can fit under the cap. Salary cap is $1040 so taking into account the 14 $1 cap holds I guess you could say that the max salary is $1026Richard4444 wrote:6) Regarding birds rights, I read the team can use birds' rights to go to 10% above cap space. Salary cap is $1040. You can go to $1144 to resign a Birds right player(s). If you have $100 in cap space and a Bird player you can actually offer them as much as $204/5 years. If you have more than one Bird player you can split that extra money up. As long as you don't go over the hard cap of $1144 keeping $1 cap holds into account for any available roster spots. You can use up your cap space before signing a Bird player (something we discussed yesterday and I will talk more about when I get a chance).Richard4444 wrote:7) Why everybody keeps posting Summer League Real Players performance on this BAF topics instead of Summers League? The mix of transactions and bids is the hardest thing for me to keep up with. I think this is why Richard and myself mentioned a separate thread. Something that would be cool ( and it is what the spreadsheet would have done ) is if the current bid amount was posted by the players name. Not the team name but current winning bid amount. That may save some time and useless PM's if a bid goes out of the range a team can make.
I think teams like mine are great examples since the amount we can bid is so small. There are a number of players that will get over 12 dollars for 4 years; which is my max bid. If I saw the bid amounts, I would obviously pass on any above my max.
If a team bids on a player and wins, but then can't sign player because they ran out of cap space how is that addressed?
