How can you not see the similarities?

Just asking. Haven’t followed Zach Lavine before. But was Lavine always this good with his scoring?

Im just wondering if Lavine, Zhaire and Springer are all in the same archetype. They’re more of springy jumpers and just like to shoot over people with their good shooting mechanics type scorers

Yeah, I still think almost dieing really messed with Smith’s ceiling.

It played a large role

Y'all check this thread out. This kid isn't Kyrie Irving, but he can put the ball on the floor.

Drafting an Avery Bradley type over a stud top ten potential PG in Cooper is why scouts still don’t get it.

I know my stance with Cooper at not liking him but no one can deny his talent is obviously superior. It was def a wait and see against better comp. But this already par for the course

Happily admit I was wrong on Cooper. He was small in College like proper small but from the eye he looks to have grown abit. Height aside he has a stocky frame.

... dare I say it F it he has shades of CP3 sprinkled throughout his game.

Anyone that can tempo and floor general a game like that is an upper tier of class. Yes it’s SL but the skill to do that is undeniable.

I still don’t like him but like Trae early on it might change in the coming years lol.

I don't believe Kidd had a 23.7% assist percentage when he was 18. The truth is that no one knows what this kid will end up being. Just sit back and relax and wait like the rest of us.

I'm going to guess the guy averaging 7 assists per game in his freshman year at Cal had an assist percentage over 23%.

7.7 assists in 31 mpg. There's probably like in the 45-50% range. Maybe even higher.

Didn't catch yesterday's game, but nice to see the kid went for 21 on 8-14 (5-6 from the stripe).

Question: Anyone happens to know Springer's 3 point percentage during his junior and senior years at IMG? I've searched everywhere and I can't find it.

Thanks!

Possibly a guy who can be as good as Maxey’s scoring?

We know he can go to the rack, but I'd really like to see more perimeter scoring in these clips. He can obviously overpower guards at the G league level, but up here he would need a more well rounded attack - floaters, step backs, etc. That needs to be the focus of his development IMO.

For some reason he reminds me of a slightly more athletic, smaller Evan Turner. Aka his close shots will be blocked very often unless he learns how to shoot from the outside

You think? I know it's just the GLeague, but he looks like he has a Maxey-esque ability to score in the paint, although he gets there in a different way.

Yeah in the way in powers through people with his size against lesser competition the way Turner did in mostly in college and he has a seemingly tight handle but not amazing athleticism.

I don't think he'll ever have the one-on-one ability that Maxey has, but I think he's better in every other way.

Springer is bigger, a better natural distributor, a much better defender, and even though he's also a reluctant shooter, he has a slightly better shooting profile than Maxey.

If both of them embrace the three point shot in due time, we'll be set up nicely. My money is on Springer being the better player on both ends.

I wouldn't be surprised if Jaden grew another inch or 2 with his brothers being 6'7 or taller. He's strong with a functional but non creative handle and a heady defender. If he gets even a little taller he could be a defensive play making 2 guard.

If Springer grew to 6'5+ that'd make him a lot more interesting. I still think he's like 2 years away from truly contributing so I'm interested in watching this project play out.

I don't see the Maxey comp in that Springer is more physical in going to the basket whereas Maxey relies on quicks and deception. In terms of willingness to take it to the rim, no doubt they both have that same aggressiveness.
