Around the NBA 2021-22

Post#21 » by ThunderBolt » Wed Aug 4, 2021 10:55 pm

I’m changing the name of the thread and putting the year at the end this time. Since I’m becoming an old man and post stuff in the wrong place, maybe this will help me.

I get it but I'm glad it's not us.

Schroeder is still out there for regret.

I really hope Sam doesn't get any wild ideas with him. I appreciate that Dennis bought in to his role while he was here, but his style of play in ATL and LA, as well as comments make me not want him back here.

Ugh if he's healthy he'll help them out in the regular season, I've still got stock on Winslow working out

yeah pretty bad news for us. Clippers are solid even without Kawhi so If PG13 is healthy they should still make the playoffs.

If our pick is significantly hurt by Winslow, I’ll eat my shorts.

nah. Just think that keeping Batum, Reggie and adding Winslow is a pretty good start for them. They will miss Kawhi for sure but an healthy WInslow can have a decent impact on their team.

Still a lot of question marks with this Clippers squad though. PG13, Reggie, Winslow and Ibaka are injury prone.

Winslow/Kennard is an intriguing pair of 'guys I probably overrate' but I think they could have a good bench, which WILL hurt the pick even if Winslow individually doesn't.
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

Scottie Barnes looking real good for Toronto. Hasn't shot that well, but is doing everything else on the court.

Chicago holding Lauri hostage by demanding a 1st round pick in a S&T while not wanting to pay him more than his QO seems pretty shady. Feels like a way to burn bridges with whichever agency represents him on any future clients

If his agency is any big and has sway that might even cost them workouts with some of the better prospect.

Who is the last Evan Mobley type prospect that really worked out?

It's true, but at the same time I feel like he's earned a prove it deal through his play. He hasn't improved and isn't worth a big deal based off where he's at, but is still young and useful enough to want him on your team. At the end of the day this is what restricted free agency is about, and he hasn't played well enough for the bulls or anyone else to take the risk.

Ends in 2025 then? only a pick after that.

Still don't think it's a bad thing. Gonna be difficult for Kawhi to stay healthy. I still like potential of those picks/swaps in 2024 or 2025

Interesting he went with the 4 year option, lines up with the length of PG's extension. Thought he'd do a 1+1 so he could get the most money possible. Here's to hoping they both bounce after these next deals are up.
