Who was more certain of position going into the NBA? Ben Simmons or Giannis

wierd question OP, it was well known taking Giannis was a risk, when Ben Simmons was an obvious top pick.

Simmons was always a big PG, Giannis was more of a SF coming into the league.

I felt like Ben Simmons was a PF prospect in college however it became obvious as soon as NBA career started he would be tried at PG

I never got the impression of him being a pf while in college. He was constantly being compared to LeBron and getting that sort of hype as a big wing from what I recall. People were saying he had similar athleticism and skills to LeBron but was even bigger.

Strange so many peopled for Giannis. Even more strange because this thread is a few years old and memories should be closer to when these guys were prospects. My guess is that a lot of people in the section do not follow pre NBA prospects, and likely wouldn't know much about Giannis.

Giannis was expected to be a PG, SG or SF - with perhaps the strongest influence going toward PG, but pretty dispersed. He was incredibly raw and no one knew what he would do in the NBA or how good he would be.

Simmons played PG and was expected to be a PG, and was a well understood prospect (hence why he went #1).

This isn't very close. Simmons playing PG was much more predictable than what ever people thought Giannis would play.

Never seen the word power forward and Simmons in the same sentence until his 3rd season or so in the NBA. Was always going to be a point guard.
