Lol I’ve been watching summer league since 03.

I’m not saying Barnes is a bad player or a terrible pick but I think we missed. It happens.

And I know watching summer league to ignore a few things like turnovers, assist, fg%, points, etc.

Games are usually sloppy because of the talent. I watch for athleticism, fluidity, court vision, and ability to score and get to the basket.

Barnes will look better in games with better spacing. But I think Suggs was the pick
You've been watching since 03 and you're STILL making definitive statements on guy's careers based on a couple of games? That's tuff

I thought I was the only one who noticed that was weird, dudes been watching for close 20 years but he's determining how good a kids gonna be after ONE AND HALF summer league games.

No I’m not. I have no idea how good he’ll actually be but so far from my eye test I wish we picked Suggs.

Back in 03 I wanted Wade after SL

were you actually expecting Barnes to be better than Suggs in the summer league?

Suggs was always the nba ready prospect. Not to mention that Summer league is always more beneficial for guards to jack up shots

No but we certainly were not expecting a slow footed, non explosive player that lacks basic lateral quickness

This guy was supposed to be an athletic freak who compared his game to Magic Johnson, lmao

We've learned so far that Barnes is best when you put the ball in his hands. I guess today's game they wanted to see what Banton could do at PG for some reason lol

Liked what I saw from Banton and Precious. Also liked what I saw from Barnes when he was aggressive and actually given the ball

Flynn needs to focus on running an offense and creating for guys

Did I say Suggs was a great half court shot creator? No I said he had a half court offensive game. Barnes doesn’t even have a semblance of that.

It’s not like Masai and Bobby are shocked by that. They didn’t draft Barnes thinking he was a finished project

Oh, I’m sure. It’s going to be a long wait though with him offensively.

Funny to read how last week, a couple of posters were telling me the Raptors did not want to draft Suggs, because they were set at the PG spot with FVV and Flynn. Before the draft, I said this team should draft Suggs, and look to package Flynn and Boucher to get another mid to late first round pick. Flynn is so overrated by some of the Raptor homers. It is one Summer League game, but I do not see Flynn as the future starting PG like some hope he will be. Barnes should be given more opportunities at the point guard position in these summer league games.
