Nothing big, just thinks the Bucks did well for themselves despite spending less than $12 mil in FA. Praised the Allen pickup. Thinks they could still use a ball handler.

Since it's paid content I'll only post the Bucks
Nobody is really talking about the Bucks, and especially about Bucks who have fewer than 13 characters in their last names. But they quietly had a nice week and left themselves well-positioned to defend their title.
Thanks to a roster already knee-deep in the tax, Milwaukee spent less than $12 million total in free agency. But that money went unusually far, ending up with Bobby Portis, George Hill, Semi Ojeleye and Rodney Hood. That seems … good, right? Like, maybe it wasn’t a life-changing offseason for them, but they upgraded a couple of key areas and unexpectedly retained their most important free agent in Portis.
Milwaukee also turned its D.J. Augustin trade exception into something of value by acquiring Grayson Allen from Memphis, adding a bigger guard with more on-ball skill to replace the departed Bryn Forbes.
Milwaukee still probably needs one more ballhandler (one intriguing name Bucks fans have their eye on is NotJeffTeague) and may still need to shift some money around to minimize a large looming tax bill. But the Bucks’ roster makes sense in terms of depth and shooting, and they’re the only team with Giannis.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

- The $12 million we spent in free agency went further than it usually would.
- He liked the Grayson Allen pickup for the trade exception.
- He thinks we still need one more ball-handler.
- Wouldn't be surprised if we end up shifting some money around to minimize the tax bill even more.

Gotcha. Thanks to you both. I let a bunch of subscriptions run out as it was getting out of hand, but might need to nab Athletic again when they have another sale.

The guy has lit it up in real NBA games and is 22. Let's maybe not bury him just yet.
People should wait to see how he looks in the preseason.

I can buy the idea that Nwora is being asked to chuck, but I can't imagine he's being asked to look his teammates off in some of the situations that he is.

iirc, Montrezl Harrell killed it in summer league.
SL basketball is biased against players who make their teammates better if you want to be more precise, blackholes like Harrell or Christian Wolf can kill it too. Basically the guys who go get there's, there isn't a lot of offense being run. I am excited to see Mamu on an NBA court with NBA spacing, wouldn't be surprised if Kalaitzakis breaks out a bit and shows a little of the potential he flashed when he was younger with NBA teammates/coaches/trainers. Yi and I think 2nd year Larry Sanders killed it too

It has been hard to watch in all honesty. It feels like a rec league game when he is playing.

Summer League ball is universally garbage, it's just to see small flashes from young guys and for a bunch of guys desperate to get noticed & signed somewhere else mostly overseas.

EDITED POST
Starters:
1) Giannis
2) Lopez
3) Middleton
4) Allen
5) Jrue
Top Bench:
6) Bobby
7) Pat
8 ) Semi
9) Hill
That's nine guys. Now add in if healthy
10) DDV
11) Rodney Hood
That leaves the towel waiving squad:
12) Thanasis
13) Nwora
14) George
15)
Two way guys:
16) Mamu
17) ?
I'm assuming Thanasis is back. To me the question then is what you do with slot 15. Do you leave that open for now or use it on Diakite, or can we find one more ring chasing vet, willing to take the minimum.

Larry broke himself. He looked like a shell of himself the prior season under Larry Drew. He had off the court issues, on the court issues, and was a **** head in general. That was the season Gary Neal told him to earn his pay. Larry gave up on basketball before the ink on that deal was even dry.
Kidd is an ass, but this Larry revisionist history from this passage is hilarious.
Not to be rude, but this post sounds like it's coming from a place that doesn't truly understand mental health. Broke himself? I'm sure he didn't ask to have depression/anxiety. The guy was clearly struggling for awhile and Kidd just gave him new things to add to his anxiety/depression that eventually broke his body down, instead of getting him the help he needed. Who's to say he couldn't have turned it around if he had the support he needed at that time?
The stigma is lessening, but even back in 2014, guys weren't coming out and talking about this stuff. As someone who's dealt/deals with that type of anxiety, it can be debilitating as **** and there was a period in my life not that long ago, where I felt like I was going through the motions just to get through the day.
Do I wish things would have worked out better with Larry? Absolutely. But having dealt with BS anxiety/depression myself, I tend to be a bit more empathetic to his situation.
Larry fell in love with a lifestyle after he signed that extension and never looked back. He just didn’t love basketball. He drummed up the mental health issues so he wouldn’t look like the bad guy and hey it worked.
Larry was facing suspension and banishment was a near certainty at the rate he was going. The Bucks did him a massive favor buying out that contract, because he almost certainly wasn’t going to stay clean to see it through. When he joined LeBron in Cleveland he was cut for missing the team bus and repeatedly showing up late to practice. That’s everything you need to know about Larry. Even when he was handed a golden opportunity playing with LeBron for a title he didn’t care enough to show up on time. This was years after the Bucks.
Larry just doesn’t care. I’m tired of hearing his name.

Yes
Coach Drew: "Milwaukee has always been a team that I have been intrigued by. When we played them, they were a tough team for us to play. Although we did beat them all four times"

Teague?
George is roster spot 15 and currently 13 and 14 are taken by Diakite and Bryant. Diakite is actually signed through next year, both years NG, and Bryant is NG for this year (they both have some guaranteed money but not until December)

I edited my post with the George info.
I guess the discussion I'd prompt is what the heck do they do with Thanasis, Diakite and Bryant. There are only two slots for the three of them. I'd pitch Diakite and Bryant overboard for a ring chasing vet. Who is left out there?

Waiting for Schroeder could have resulted in a lot of egg on our faces, we could have got him or maybe he see’s himself in Kemba/Kyrir’s shoes and wants the shots. I’m happy with Hill/Allen.

I don’t see any reason to keep Bryant, Diakite serves more of a purpose being the only other rim protector besides Lopez & Giannis but honestly I wouldn’t lose too much sleep about either.
