Looks like the real deal. Skills are off the charts. His mobility is astonishing when you factor in the accuracy on the run. How do defenses defend this?

He's going to shatter every Bears QB record.

Justin Fields defeats the Miami Dolphins and Omar Kelly.

He is so calm, poised, yet the energy jolt through the team he gives.

Nice start for Fields. I'm not going to read much into it, preseason and all, but there was a lot of good and not much bad. No warning flags set off and lots of promise there.

I have been very optimistic about Fields since the draft and everything today reinforced that opinion.

I will say that even more of a pleasant surprise than Fields was that our O-Line actually did a decent job the whole game against a good Miami defense.

A pre-draft knock on Fields’ was his tendency to hold onto the football (especially when pressured), and that showed on a lot of his dropbacks. His average time to throw (3.20 seconds) is the third-longest mark for any quarterback with 10-plus dropbacks this preseason.

“Bears” watching. But I would also like to see rookie delineated numbers.

I think the biggest key to getting Fields to take over will be when our o-line shows itself to be at least OK. The worst thing for young QB's is to get sacked a sh*t ton and get the yips. I would want some confidence that they can protect him enough where that won't happen.

Fields has IT.

No happy feet like Mitch. Smooth. Calm. Accurate. Decisive.

You have to start him week 1. I think that will be obvious by the end of camp. He probably won’t start till week 4 or 5 though.

Sometimes he looked almost TOO calm in the pocket...which looks stupid to type, but he was acting as if he couldn't actually be tackled.

Only preseason so we'll wait until we see him in an actual game setting but...he could be a superstar.

Maybe worth keeping an eye on long term but:
- Half the teams don't even have 1 preseason game yet
- This stat is literally for one game
- It ignores context
- Without knowing how different it is from others, it's sort of meaningless even if the above three things which render it meaningless weren't true. Like is the average 2.2? 3.15?

It’s extremely meaningless when you consider the amount of pre season games that have been played so far.. there’s only been 5 so far. Not to mention I don’t recall fields getting sacked at all. But PFF had all these stats leading up to the draft indicating how Fields was going to be a bust.

Fields is special, I like how he takes his time, extends plays with his legs, while looking down the field. I can’t wait to see when he’s in there with first string WR who are more prone to create separation from defenders.

I’m trying to think of a QB who’s passing was on par with their running.usually QBs have one and the other isn’t as good, but both his running and passing seem to be on par with each other. Maybe Watson, I’ve never been to crazy about russell wilson passing ability.

Eh.

Pandemic meant no in person physicals so I'm fine with the Jenkins pick/that decision.

Trading up when you cannot pin down a physical for a second round guy with a bad back?

Ifedi hurt his hip working out, happens and he'll be back.

Ifedi, nuff said. On top of this a rookie question mark opposite side

Larry got a concussion but looked good.

5th round rookie at left tackle in the NFL . Hmmm

They can still sign a vet to shore things up.

They don’t walk the streets being any good

Just signed Jason Peters.

How many sacks did we give up today?

A statement and a question answerable by one word. Really?

Or is it….seriously? The kids may be onto a different word by now. Signed right after the great preseason game too.

I mean, what does this say about the Bears grand plan here? And materially, Tevin Jenkins?

We are coming off of an off-season in which we just drafted the greatest QB prospect this franchise has ever had. Herbert looks like a stud, Tonga is a rotational NT and Borom was looking good before the concussion - if Fields shakes out and those guys are contributing - it's the greatest draft in my lifetime and we're going to focus on Jenkins' back/cutting Charles Leno?

Enjoy the day my man, Justin Fields is a super freak athlete and he'll be starting before long. Draft busts (especially injury related) happen all of the time and truly it's way too freaking early to call Jenkins anything right now. Give it time to shake out and enjoy Justin. He's the most special athlete in the most pivotal position in sports that this city has seen since #23, it's going to be a fun freaking ride

I mean an average NFL QB today could do that. I think he's going to be better than that. He's got really great potential and skills.
