15 points 6-9 shooting at the half.

He's a much better player than Kuminga at this stage of their development in a similar role.

Jalen was mocked at 6 for like 90 percent of the year until like combine workouts started. He was closer to that top tier of players than his actual pick represents.

Still needs development but you can't help but be impressed with his size and skill combination.

Skill wise, Jalen Johnson was the real #5 pick and was ranked ahead of both Barnes and Kuminga throughout most of the year but unfortunately his "character" plummeted his stock. I've mentioned it before but Atlanta got the biggest steals of the draft with him and Cooper as they raise Atlanta's playoff ceiling significantly. For a team that went to the ECF, they managed to get a lottery pick @ 20 and a mid teen FRP @ 49 which is incredible value.

Yep, Jalen Johnson looks like a steal at #20. Don't like the fit on Atlanta for him, not many minutes available.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

We say this every year about teams that draft players that "slipped" in the draft and it always turns out that the other teams were correct in not drafting them.

I said this in another thread, how many 6ft point guards who can't shoot, can't defend and who turn the ball over at a high rate are there in the NBA? FVV is also 6ft and coming out of college he could defend at a high level, knock down 3's and not turn the ball over and he went undrafted.

And Jalen Johnson has an intriguing skillset but some very concerning character issues. 20 teams were obviously concerned with these issues and felt that his skillset wasn't good enough to warrant a lottery selection.

Probably the same posters that laughed at me for wanting Barnes at 7.

Yup we had a division down the middle more or less and I was adamant Mitchell at 7, 8 or 9. The Shen Gooz were trying to insist man's game Alpy was this undiscovered blood diamond. If we wnt for the Siakam package and whiffed on Mitchell at 7 I woulda freaked but Masai loves homegrown allstars so... Barnes-Banton-Wainright-Achuiwa-Bonga-Johnson will have to do. Maybe we give Harris another shot next year.

I really hope that people realize that 100% of these players will not have the same role once they report back to their teams.
It’s all about the mindset of fitting into a role and 90% of these guys are not cut out for it.

The mocks were trash this year. I had Barnes top 7 all year.

Its very similar to the Barnes fit in Toronto tbh. Atlanta had been scrambling all year dealing with injuries and trying to get the most out of another rotation player most of the time that was Cam Reddish.

Only ones I see having the same role is Cade and Green.

All these guys jacking up shots won't be allowed to do that in the regular season.

Well Barnes will have a similar role. He's pretty much been the last option for this Raptors summer league team and had to earn all his stats through effort. Although I actually think they will use his strengths more when he's around better players he can compliment. Sengun will probably also have a big role just because he'll command it. As long as they give him minutes.
