I'm loving all negativity about Barnes in a summer league game thread. The Raptors board is BACK! I actually prefer Barnes over Suggs. Remember we are the Raptors, we have to take home run swings in the draft to land game-changing talent because we literally will never, ever sign a star free agent. I'm looking forward to seeing Barnes in actual NBA games I think he'll thrive in a more structured system and surrounded by talent.

LiAngelo definitely got confidence in spades. Hopefully someone takes a flier on him but it wouldn't be the worst thing in da world to spend a season in the G League. Build your stock up.

Just cause people are bringing up Barnes short comings does not make them Sugg fan boys....Barnes does not look good at all his defense is good yes but hes as Raw as Bruno if im being real....And thats a 20th pick this is a 4th pick ofc people will be upset at what their eyes are seeing

Summer league squad is trash and our coach doesn't allow Barnes to bring the ball up court and initiate any pnr's.

Man is getting the ball and instantly passing it and setting screens.

Game 1 Barnes was different. He was given more freedom and you could see the potential.

edit: 3rd quarter onwards they're finally letting him make plays.

Nurse still coaches in Championship mode and has highs expectations he might not like some of Scotties mistakes.
Barnes kind of reminds me of Dwight Howard with some of his goofiness and demeanor despite having the
Incredible Hulk body. Also I think Nurse hinted he was a Jalen Suggs guy in a interview.

On the flip side Nurse loved McCaw who has also had no offense and was just big and a capable defender so
who knows. I just see Nurse being tough on him like he was on Pascal for some of his brain dead mistakes
and having a tight leash on the rookie as I think Nurse has a hard time accepting losing and rebuilding and
will be gunning for the playoffs.

Someone mentioned it but it wouldn't surprise me if Barnes is in the 905 at some point this year especially if
he continues to look scared/tentative offensively.
