What exactly does KZ show to warrant a spot on the roster? Defense? We have plenty of that right now. If he has zero threat to shoot, his defender is just going to shift over and double someone else. Ive seen enough of him to see he wont ever be able to shoot and we can use the spot for another up and comer. Sucks we spent 3 second rounders on him. Move on and give one of the guys showing promise.

Honestly, as a KZ hopeful - the answer is nothing. Right now.

But - since he just turned 22, since he seems to be a hard worker and since he has elite physical tools - you could do worse for the #13-14 guy on the roster.

In theory (or fantasy) you could see him becoming a decent 3 point shooter - the form looks fine and he's knocking them down occasionally. He also shows flashes of good defense and rebounding.

For some reason the game hasn't slowed down for him yet. He also seem to lack confidence. He can kinda get by his man and get into the paint - but doesn't know what do when he does. He can kinda shot, but misses too many good looks. He can defend, but sometimes gets out of position.

If he can a ton of minutes in Gleague and get his head right, I still think he can become a good rotation player.

I'll always believe in a young hard worker with great physical tools in our system . He's not a natural, but some guys get it together later then others. these next months are his last chance, I'm pulling for him to surprise a lot of people.

Jarreau was even giving KZ some good looks. Heat need to sign him to the 2 way already. Another true PG off the bench to pair with Lowry when we didn't have one in years.

Very poised out there. Very clam and heady with the ball, good vision and passing, can drive, finish inside nicely. Good size and length for a PG, tries on defense and seem to have a knack for it.

He's a decent jumper away from a legit NBA PG. He might already have it.

Wish KZ was a bit more accomplished looking on O. Doesn't look like he has any spots on the floor. Regardless, we don't need him right away. Let him practice against elite defenders daily and see what happens in another year.

Send KZ overseas. Let him play some tough Euroleague basketball.

KZ biggest problem he still a net negative on Offense. We cannot have a non-veteran on the floor who on top of the fact that will make young player mistakes on the defensive end cant score worth a damn.

Jarreau was a great find. No doubt. I can see him contributing now and his game will grow a lot. KZ is going to have to play hard this season if he is going to stay on the team. I hope he makes it but there are serious doubts.

They don't have enough money to cut him and resign someone else while staying under the tax, doubt he's with Miami after this 3 year contract is over.

Is Okpala going to end up being a poor man's Winslow, both as a player and as a demi-god on this board?

We have to be under the tax at the end of the season, not now. I would expect the Heat to be buyers anyhow, because the team probably still needs to get a lot better to beat the Bucks in a 7-game series. If that's the goal, I think we're still short, so we better be looking to improve.

And from a development point of view the Heat have no draft picks so they really better take advantage of the good fortune.

I been thinking. I don’t mind the money heat gave drob, at that price he could be a good trade piece and teams will always cover and comfortably overpay for an elite shooter

Maybe but I don't think it's worth going over the tax for a new 14th man, also, to "cut" salary without damaging the team is going to be hard to do with 4 large contracts and nearly everyone else on minimums make getting back under the cap tough and possibly expensive just to bring in a new 14th or 15th man, it's just not worth it at this point.

Big man has a soft touch around the rim and a pretty wet jumper.

He could be a really nice piece next to Bam. Hoping he's our next gem of a find - early signs look very good, but we'll see how he adjusts to the increased skill, size and attention at the next level.

If Beverley gets cut/waived by Grizzlies, please find a freakin way. Hate the guy but he would fit the dog mentality like a glove.

Yup. Either of them fill the void of vet backup PG we need.
