appreciate you gracing the board sir. also, yes to your point. Dubs did work this draft. Kuminga getting some Draymond tutelage is spooky and not sure there's a better place for Moses Moody to do Moses Moody things than in the Bay.
This board provided me a wealth of insight the past couple days so it was only fair that I participated in the conversation![]()
Yeah the Warriors are in great shape between old talent and new prospects (assuming Klay at least resembles pre-injury form). It's borderline suspicious GS wen't for 2 value picks, almost like they want to appeal to the largest number of suitors in trade talkOr they just liked those players and I'm overanalyzing as I often do
Dubs 100% gave themselves options, they can flip assets for vets or run with a very capable (when healthy) team while developing talent as they go. Really well done draft night.

They could flip Moody for Duarte right now. They want a vet, right?

They could flip Moody for Duarte right now. They want a vet, right?
Lmao. If I'm the Dubs Moody might be the last of the new crop I'm parting with. If you wanna talk about a FIT, holy hell it don't get no better. Moody could have logged quality minutes for either team during this past finals, his game fits seamlessly in Golden State.
Duarte isn't a bad pick. He's going to be effective for the Pacers and fits the type of players you guys put on the floor nightly. Usually it's the hub helping the receivers flourish, with Duarte's shot making and off ball movement it might open up the passing element of Sabonis' game even more. Sabonis being the carousel for three knockdown shooters of similar size in McD, Brog, and Duarte could be money.
PLUS marketing could be epic if you let Brogdon log real minutes with the second unit. With those shooters you could coin "Gunn DMC"

Agreed. One can hope, though, right?

Oh, he's an absolutely horrible pick. Not because he is a bad player or anything but because he doesn't fit what we should be trying to do. We're not contending right now. Picking Duarte won't help us contend right now and it won't help us contend in the future either. Picking Moody (or lots of other players) could help us contend in the future. Duarte is just McDermott's replacement and you don't waste one of the few lottery picks you get just to replace the 7th/8th guy in your rotation.

2021 NBA Draft, Part 2
Rockets got maybe my two favorite prospects, and Garuba.
Rich get richer with the Warriors. People can say what they want about Wiseman being a bust this early or Kuminga, but a team with a megastar, and two other all NBA guys was able to add absolute premium talent two years in a row… oh and they got Moses Moody too.
Edit: Don’t hate the Pels picks, but I’d be lying if I said I wouldn’t prefer just taking who ATL took for their two.

2021 NBA Draft, Part 2
I really like Mobley, but Green/Sengun is way way way better than any combo of Mobley/small Houston could have grabbed… and I’m higher on Green than Mobley already.
I think it wouldn’t be a huge shocker to most people following the draft if Sengun works out to be as good or better than Mobley. And not a knock on Mobley.

Re: 2021 NBA Draft, Part 2
Anyone know what happens to the Ignite kids that didn't get picked? they stay with that same team next year or fall into the free agent pool? I thought i remember seeing Sotto was going to be there two years regardless and he didn't play so im guessing doesn't lose the equivalent to his eligibility in this case. But Nix got burn and nobody picked him so im wondering what happens with dude.

My understanding is that it is a one year contract pre-draft. Since Sotto didn't come over last year, I think that the same considerations will apply for him next year. My understanding is that Nix is a free agent and he has signed on to the Sixers summer league, hoping to land a two-way contract.

Of course, bud. Really was a bit upset that Nix didn't get selected or land a two-way right out of the gate. I like his game and know he can play in the NBA one day.

I haven't heard of him until the actual draft but anyone familiar with or have thoughts on Juhann Begarin. He looks like an NBA player to me, super young too.

Y’all should apologize for not telling me how athletic and long Trey Murphy is.

I know it's preseason but Jared Butler is looking good. Still pissed the Knicks passed on him and Keon Johnson with their 2 1st rounders. Had Butler 3rd which I think won't look crazy in the end.

Butler looks nice, very excited. I liked him a lot - I think top 3 is probably a bit too optimistic, but he just looks like a pro. He reminded me a bit of late career George Hill and Jalen Brunson, on offense he already looks like a low-end starter. Defensively he's not good yet, but I think a year of getting used to NBA schemes and he should be fine. Conley is the perfect mentor for him.

Still upset we straight up sold the Butler pick. Our guards aren’t nearly close enough of a sure thing to just be selling off solid prospects.

He was very underrated. My 2 most underrated players going into the draft (guys I had ranked way higher than consensus) were Begarin and Aldama. I had both of them top 25 on my board. Pretty much no one else had either of them in their top 40. Most people had both of them either going undrafted or in the 50-60 range.
I guess I wasn't the only one who saw talent in them - Boston and Memphis did too.
Begarin is 6'6" with a 7'0" wingspan. He's a wing who adds value on both sides of the ball and is also very good in transition. Was only 18 on draft night. Shot well over 49% from 3 during his last 8 games of last season + the 2 games at g-league elite combine.
He's fast, athletic, strong build, he plays with a toughness/edge, high motor, really goes all out on a lot of plays for loose balls/steals, goes hard when attacking the rim and is a very good passer, especially for a kid who was only 18 last yr and is a non-PG playing in a pro league.
