They've announced 3 Xmas games and I think that might be all there will be since the NFL plays 2 games that day.

Apparently it won't be Phoenix. My guess is Philly since I'd be pretty surprised if either of Philly or Milwaukee didn't get a Christmas game

I don't.

But yes I do agree in that I don't see legitimate development pathways for Thanasis to be more than he is. A locker room hype up guy and keeping lil bro happy is fine to have around.

Well, I'm not just picking and choosing the 10 game sample while ignoring the other 44 games he played with that team where in total he averaged 14.9 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 1 steal on 57/46/75. That's not hyperbole. That is highly productive.

Selectively choosing the strongest league is pretty relevant to measuring production and quality prior to stepping up to NBA imo.

What's your source on those stats? As far as I can see the only time he averaged 14.9ppg was a 12 game sample from the Euro Cup.

Like I said, highly productive.

I would still think a Xmas day game competing against a NFL game will still be higher ratings than a normal weeknight game, right? Just avoid head-to head markets and think the NBA would gain a decent share of the audience

That's certainly possible. The NFL games are 3:35 (Packers/Browns) and 7:15 (Colts/Cardinals). Packers/Browns will get big ratings assuming Rodgers vs. Mayfield, Colts/Cardinals it depends how they are doing late in the season. I can't imagine the NBA giving up the early prime time slot but they may defer to the NFL for the late afternoon game?

Didn’t know the packers/nfl were playing on Christmas, makes sense on why a bucks game wouldn’t be scheduled. Would still be super weird not having the bucks on but I bet it would be nice for the players to be home. Doesn’t matter to me much as they’ve gotten plenty national attention and the last few Christmas games.

Edit: Celtics at bucks

I'm really surprised Denver with the reigning MVP, and Philly didn't get Christmas day games

Just wait for opening night to be more about Durant’s shoe size being a half size too big and not as much about the team that actually won the championship.

For the viewing audiences, a small overlap with Packers-Browns as Bucks-Celtics should be over late in the first quarter of Packers-Browns. Will be a little worse for the attending audiences.

I thought we'd get Bucks-Suns but they decided to split up the Bucks and Suns.

We just need to have a proper ring size that night. Giannis and his dogs will get theirs in front of Harden and everybody else can talk whatever they want.

Surprised they don't factor in stuff like that. Like either flip the Bucks/Celtics with Atl/Knicks and or just start the ATL game at 11:30EST.

Wonder if it was a factor playing the Suns only 2x and fitting them in schedule wise on a west coast trip.

I was wrong about 5 NBA games on Xmas. Dumb to have Bucks overlap Packers, even if it's a small overlap.

I do love that the Nets will be there for the ring ceremony (even if they'll most likely be in the locker room). We've laid some turds on home openers though.

What happens to guys like Merrill and PJ? Do they show up or get their rings FedEx thank you John?

Why exactly is Boston getting a Christmas game over Philly or Denver? They aren’t a better team and they don’t even have the most star power. Jokic might be the most dismissed and underappreciated MVP of all time at this rate lmao.

Agreed. Bucks on Xmas day of course. But Boston? Come on now. Bucks/Philly would be better.

Can't wait to annihilate Boston on national TV for Christmas, but Giannis getting his championship ring while that fat loser James Harden looks on is gonna be the highlight of the season.

PJ will probably get his ring and a nice video tribute whenever Miami comes to town first. Merrill probably gets his in a less visible way whenever Memphis comes through.
