110 QBR. He looks like he has good feet, moves well in the pocket, some touch, a good arm.

I just don’t see him as a QB who attacks down the field.. going to your check downs will enable you a high QBR. That’s not surprising.

a high QBR is the name of the game. it means the chances of scoring on the possession are being maximized. if defenses play more man to man, reducing check down opportunities, and he's unable to burn them downfield, then that will be a problem. we'll see i guess

That’s what stuck out to me the most. Fields made it all look so easy. That’s usually the indicator of greatness.

Everyone wants to feel like they know what will happen and that their hopes and beliefs will be actualized.

It was pre season and yes he played against 2nd/3rd stringers (especially when he played well in the 3rd). Lets just take it for that. No need to crown him yet just like there's no reason to dump on him. But for me after that performance, the hype/hope continues to live on.

Watching Nagy talk about Fields after his first pre-season outing, it was obvious how excited he was to have him as “his” QB. Matt was absolutely beaming, there was no way for him to hide his excitement. As a Chiefs fan that saw plenty of Nagy up close, I think you guys are going to be very happy with how this team looks once Justin is named the starter. The offense is going to match the D….. should be a ton of fun to watch. I’m really happy for you guys.

LMAO at this guy Sims. Clearly short changing the kid making it seem like he relied on rushing and physical ability only, short changing his calm demeanor and the plays that resulted due to that. This guy is going to continue to fall on this sword because he’s too stubborn to admit he was wrong in his pre draft analysis.

I am not sure Justin Fields has IT. I mean, I look at him out there, and where is IT. Where is that BDN energy we all crave?!?!?!?

The best part about this breakdown was his usage of the old Hawk Harrelson saying, "can of corn". Hawk is the GOAT announcer, without question!

Hawk got that from Bob Prince who used to announce Pirate games in the 60's and 70's. Prince was just the first announcer known for that saying... It's actually an old turn of the century baseball idiom that was derived from grocery store clerks who used to catch cans in their aprons after knocking then off of high shelves with sticks. Now you know.

He’s got to double down on his draft prediction the man had him ranked the 6th best QB in the entire draft. He knows he was wrong but he’s not going to admit that in the first pre season game.

Nobody is gonna care where he had Mahomes Watson and Lamar rank years prior if Fields turns out to be a stud. He was one of Fields biggest critics. If Fields turns out to be a star he won’t hear the end of it and won’t be taken as seriously and he knows that. He hurt himself by ranking him 6th, to add insult to injury he had him behind Kellen Mond. Not to mention Simms was garbage in the NFL and didn’t look half as good as Fields in college.

Yeah Major Applewhite was twice the QB that Simms ever was.

this sucks, but luckily it's not a disaster, because what team would cut a starting LT just because they drafted a rookie RT in the second round?

I don't think I'll be watching all that much this year until Fields starts.

makes sense now why that Jenkins guy slipped if he was legit first round talent that other teams passed over.
can't wait to read the stories on this in a few years - they clearly knew, they get the medicals, they talk to the kid - they took a chance. This has to be on Pace.

I'm still reeling from Gabe Carimi when we draft line talent.
He was as can't miss prospect as they got and that was an epic fail.

I wonder if anyone is going thru the pre season tape now looking for when/where Fields got hit and hurt?

otherwise if you are telling me he got hurt after just 3 weeks of NFL training camp when he's supposed to be wearing a red shirt and not getting drilled i'm gonna lose it. Someone on that staff knows where he got hurt and is not talking.

It wasn't that long ago we watched this kid get crushed in the NCAA playoffs. I mean we saw him play thru pain in the title game but the NFL is a different animal.

Please don't do this to us football gods.
We already know Trubisky is gonna look like Tom Brady on Saturday and just demolish us.
Maybe it's good if Fields doesn't play and try to one up him - it's still pre-season even if it will be Trubiskys Super Bowl.

I'd be curious to know what type of surgery is required and what the estimated recovery time is. That's a huge blow to the O-line this season. I guess we have to hope that Peters is still a decent LT.

the bears need to sign at least one more Tackle. Should have done so even before the Jenkins news. Wagner is still available I think and he'd most likely be our season-long starter. Peters is almost guaranteed to get hurt so another T is a must. I'd also like to see another interior lineman. DeCastro and Osemele would be great. Daniels and Whitehair get hurt too much. Osemele would probably be cheaper (vet min) and would be more ok with going back to the bench.

I'd also like to see another CB added. Trufant and Johnson could both get hurt so I think another good corner is needed. Sherman is still out there. I'm not sure if his legal stuff is still an issue. Could bring back Prince. Probably won't sign a CB unless Johnson or Trufant goes down for a significant amount of time.
