I think Bouknight is a better athlete than Clarkson, but yeah I think watching the game he is hesitant to just let open threes go and a lot of that probably has to do with his role at Uconn. Give him a year coming off the bench and I think he can mold his game into a more efficient NBA style game with more threes and less midrange.

While I clearly don't think he was the right pick for us this year, I will try to keep it fairly positive. It appears as though he will have a pretty high floor as a player I think his bust factor is extremely low. He will at least play possible defense. He's very patient, so he will not be a player who tanks your offense by hoisting terrible shots he has a nose for getting to the rim, which hopefully will eventually lead to a parade at the free-throw line. He will definitely look better playing between lamelo and Gordon where he is not facing a team's best defender and as more space to operate. But seriously, the over dribbling, hinting isos, allowing himself to get trapped too easily coming to picking up the ball every time a double team came his way, it's very flat jumper... all of these things give me a bit of concern if I had to compare him to a former Hornets player, right now he reminds me of Ramon Sessions, if he was a little bit bigger and less of a point guard.

You make valid points with your concerns you list above, but as a UConn fan, and a big Bouk fan, let me just point out that he has only been playing basketball for about 5-6 years now, which is insane when you think of how good he already is, especially compared to everyone else His age probably having played for 2.5x as long. He is still learning these little things, and I believe he has no ego and is willing to listen and learn. These are all things that are easily coachable, with the right development program, which I’ve read numerous times that the Hornets have just that. The sky is the limit imo.

I don't like that his name is pronounced as "Book Night". Would be better as "Bou Knight"

It's like Dwyane Wade. We all just say it the way we wish it was spelled.

He will be a stud from what I've seen. I can't wait to see him and lamelo develop as a backcourt with rozier.

YES BOUK! I know it’s r e a l l y early, but he is showing us something potentially special. When he was still available at our pick I was channeling ESP as hard as possible to pick him.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

But Borrego opted to not deviate from the regular-season plan for Bouknight. That calls for him to be a super-sub off the bench, giving Charlotte a jolt offensively while also using his youthful exuberance to inject energy into the unit on the floor. Bouknight was one of the first reserves summoned, entering early in the first quarter with second-year big man Nick Richards.

“That’s where he’s going to be this season, coming off the bench,” Borrego said. “Obviously, Ish (Smith) will be with him … It will be good for Bouk to start to build that role, that identity coming off the bench.

I've been watching some UConn videos of Bouknight today and it almost feels like I'm watching Kobe Bryant (the good and the bad). The way he moves laterally relentlessly looking for an opening to attack, his hesitation moves, and in general his fearlessness. I'm not saying he'll be as good as Kobe, but the way he plays is strikingly similar.

He looks just as awkward as Henderson did when taking three point attempts as well.

Wonder if we’ll start running that baseline inbounds pin down alley oop play again - but now for Bouk.

I won't be heartbroken if he soaks up some of oubre's minutes. Doubt he's taking Cody's mins unless Cody goes into slump.

If he averages Gerald Henderson stats + decent 3pt shooting I'll be pretty happy.

15/4/4 on 45/35/80 is a solid starting SG for most teams.

That said, he needs to actually get minutes first. He is behind several players on the depth chart.

Still pretty irritated that we drafted 3 projects. If the most "NBA ready" of the three can't get in the rotation, that doesn't bode well for the other two either.
