Overalls don’t mean anything lol. Theres an attribute called intangibles and that controls everything. There can be a 84 ovr with his intangibles at 25. He can turn into a 89-90 overall with intangibles set to 99

Giannis game is really as complete as the rest of the guys on that list? Not sure I'm buying that.

Guy couldn't even make layups and was blackhole offensively in the playoffs/Finals. That rating sounds just about right

Jrue wasn't a blackhole in the Finals though (or the playoffs for that matter). His worst series was the Nets series, aside from that, he wasn't awful.

Not sure which series you were watching. He was horrible offensively with the exception of a few games sprinkled in. If the Suns didn't have their head up their ass towards the end of the series, Jrue would have been the poster boy for why the Bucks failed

Thx. That's what I was wondering. I had kind of assumed the overall rating was an average of all the skill ratings. But I saw Steph was a 96, and although that sounds perfectly fine as a rating for him since he's an incredible player and everything, I wondered how the defensive end factored in. Like I know Steph isn't terrible at defense, but he's no world beater either. So if the overall rating was an average of everything else, including defense, I got curious about how a not-great defender could end up as a 96 overall.

But they're just making the overall rating up, basically. Makes sense I guess, Steph is one of the very best players so you have to give him one of the very best overall ratings.

most underrated player in the league at this point

Did he become the most underrated before or after his fat ass had minute restrictions and couldn't play in back to backs?

Chill on the outlandish takes after a few months of good ball lol. Some players go years of playing like this with minimal accolades.

some players? show me the list of players that started their careers with the production that Zion just had in his first two. i'd bet it's not a long list and it doesn't involve 'some players'.

and im not sure skipping backs to backs has to do with this...you got rookies skipping SL games at this point...odd to single Zion out on that especially considering he had a knee injury his rookie year.

Is the overall a sign of a complete game? Do you argue that a guy that was mvp twice and fMVP once in last three years shouldn't be at the top?

I'm saying it's hard to be almost 100 when you can't shoot FT's or threes. He's not got a game past 10-15 feet.

Because Zion sat out games because he was too fat to play. I don't have sympathy for a guy who played at a high level for less than 1 season.

Don't get me wrong, I loved what Zion did when he finally showed he was healthy. Dude is a beast but he has a ways to go before being considered underrated.

lmao why are you talking about his rookie season? Kinda proving his point

Because I don't want to hear any sob stories for a dude who was too fat to play for half of his career at the moment. Guy didn't even play all games in the bubble and was on a minute restriction when his team needed him the most.

Dude is a beast and will be great no doubt. Just don't throw the underrated label at a guy who performed at a high level for such little time.

Even though I play 2k - THIS. The Madden conversation always made me laugh. Grown men on ESPN sweating into a camera upset about ratings.

I'm so ancient I haven't really played basketball video games since NBA Live was better than 2K.

I don’t know why people care about these ratings so much. Anyone who played these games knows it’s always the guys like Malik Beasley and Gerald Green who end up dominating because the AI doesn’t really know how to properly use guys like Lebron, Jokic, Giannis, Luka…

2k should have quit after 2k11. It’s all been downhill since then.

Lol. Honestly expected both KD & Giannis to be 97.
Jrue is surprisingly low at 85, expected 87 after championship run.
Trae is kinda underrated at 89 after hus Playoffs run too. Thought he would be at least in 90 OVR club together with Zion.

Can you convince me the game has had any discernible improvements in the past 10+ years?
