If the wiz loose 15 of their first 20 or something like that . I would be ok with a deal structured around this
Beal to Philly
Simmons to mini
Edwards, springer, a number of picks 2 at least from mini and filler to DC or a 4th team for value.

In terms of offensive pecking order, I’d have him below KAT, DLo and Edwards. So 4th would be fair from that perspective.
That feels nuts to me. Not being able to shoot doesn’t mean he isn’t the best handler of that group or have the best IQ.

Best handler or IQ I think is debatable, but even if it weren’t…he’s not a scorer. It’s not insane to have him taking less shots than the guys that are.
Doesn’t mean he’s only the 4th best overall player or anything like that.

That feels extremely ambitious for Washington. A #1 pick and 3 firsts? And all if Washington has an expiring Beal and is losing 75% of their games?

I think perhaps we are talking past each other. I am using option to mean touches, and on that I think he’ll be #1, but ideally he’s at least third in shots, which is different. Surround Ben with elite shooters and watch.

As for Coby and the Bulls-I like him, but I just don't think we have room for him. I would rather let Ayo/Brown/Green mop up the remaining backcourt minutes, behind Ball/Lavine/Caruso. They might be able to get a future 1st for White
Would Ben Simmons interest Chicago? Coby White and Lauri Markkanen is 2/3 of the way to a trade IMO.

I'm glad if the debate over my comment:
"I find it hard to believe Minnesota has 4 better players than Simmons"
has already ended.

Oh, I’m sure he’d handle the ball a ton so if that’s what you mean, yeah. Though I also expect he’d be used more off ball than the Sixers have done with him.

Prince, Beverley, McDaniels and 3 Unprotected 1sts for Siakam
Siakam for Simmons
Philly preserves a trade chip for Lillard that is at least a better fit than Simmons in the meantime.
Toronto creates cap flexibility and assets.

Re: Simmons to Minny, with Chi
Markannen is not that useful, he had an outlier year in terms of 3 point shooting but otherwise his stats are down. Depending on the size of his contract he could be more of a hinderance than help. Beyond that, the Sixers have a PF in Harris, not much sense to pay much for a back up PF.

I don't think so at all. Beal has a year after this one yes he's got an opt out and he's up for a max extension but that's workable. This puts philly well in true contender range. For mini it's probably less than DM was gonna milk from them alone. For the wiz they get two looks at a Beal replacement and some picks and more movable vets to part out to get value from a rebuild.HartfordWhalers wrote:gambitx777 wrote:If the wiz loose 15 of their first 20 or something like that . I wouldn't object to basing a Simmons deal around Rozier and PJ. But it definitely requires more.

Bulls are not doing this because we not going into the luxury tax to add depth pieces. And definitely not at the expense of salary dumping White. I think we keep Lauri on the QO. Bulls hold all the cards with him.

Re: Minny pushing for Simmons? Maybe WAS helps?
The Sixers need a point guard or wing who has elite ball handling skills (hint it aint Andrew wiggins who does not have good handles) and who isn't the second coming of an aging George Hill (aka aging Pat Beverly who can't even hold a starting job any more).
Simmons is gonna to start the season with the Sixers. He's under 4 year contract. This isn't a James Harden situation where 2 years can go by quickly. And Houston wanting to REBUILD by off loading contract. Sixers are not in a rebuilding situation like Houston. This isn't a Kyrie Irving Cleveland (again Kyrie threatening to have surgery with 2 years left) and sitting out most of that season bringing him closer to 1 year left.
This is a unique situation with a 3 time all star, 1 time all nba 3rd team, first team all nba defense with 4 years left in contract who is healthy who had brain fart during second round of playoffs.
Sixers aren't going to take junk from Minnesota or other teams especially with Embiid resigned for up to 5 more years. (player option in year 6). Sixers do not want Dlo either. Yes a third team may need to be involved but that third team better bring an NBA level starting type of guard play to the Sixers who can break down defenses in half court.
I could see Cleveland being the third team with Dlo going to Cleveland, Sexton/Pat Beverly/Beasley to Sixers, Simmons Timberwolves
Love back to Minnesota in a salary dump
Cleveland would get Minnesota future pick (s).
Sixers: Sexton 7 million/Beverely 14 million/Beasley 14 million
Timberwolves: Simmons 30 million/Love (30 million) (not sure how salary cap would work)
Cleveland Dlo (30 million) (can dlo even work with Garland?) plus picks
Or OKC could be involved to take in Love's 30 million with picks going to them

I don't believe the deal could be done than. It's literally salary fillers+picks, and that's laughable even for current Bens value.

That's why a third team needs to get involved that can be sent picks and Sixers actually getting a useful point guard who can play 30 minutes and get to the rim and shoot from outside.

Your move.
Beasley is overpaid
Easy to say that now. Once he is more months past his legal recourse and splashing down 3’s, we will see about “overpaid”. My hope is he isn’t involved in Simmons trade and gets at least 1/2 season to prove himself. Then he won’t be the buy low candidate he is now. His asking price will be much higher (or Wolves keep him as great fit with Simmons/team).
it was your trade idea man...I guess you can propose it after Beasley has a break out season Sexton dies Nance retires and a couple 2nds yield the next Joker or Dray
