I think they have nice pieces to trade. And they could surely use his defense.

Ya I don’t get the narrative.

Beasley and Edwards for Simmons with Edward’s parlayed to a rebuilding team for a veteran starter.

lol that might be alright against a bunch of randos during a summer run but let's see him try that against nba-level defenders?

but to give him credit because i'm not a blind hater, it's good that he's continually working on his game. a lot of major development comes from those summer months. i'll always hold up DeMar as the ultimate example.

never forget

we can only hope gary follows a similar path in his own way.

We know he can shoot so if he can create space that's a nice improvement.

This will either be a terrible contract or a brilliant contract.

Gasol unsure about Lakers. We need to bring him back. He can mentor our bigs and still start for us one last year providing elite defense and making us a top 3 defensive team.

I would take BeerPapi back in a heartbeat. I'd do it just so that guys like Embiid and Vuc can relive nightmares of playoffs past every time we play them...and Marc checks in.

Fred / Scottie / OG / Siakam / Gasol

Idk who's scoring but that's championship level defense right there. Also frees up Fred from having to go against guys like Simmons and Brown because then they can't put anyone on Scottie. Might see Fred shoot 43-45% from the field this year.

Would put Birch on the bench where he belongs and give Achiuwa priceless mentoring and experience in practice. Equivalent to what Lowry did for Flynn and Fred.

Gasol is finished. We are rebuilding. Time for Birch and especially Precious to get serious time. No need for him at this stage.

Well they do have enough, everyone does. But yeah Minnesota doesn’t have a ready-made playoff piece and I would never give up Ant for Ben(and I don’t particularly care for Ant).

Well the Wolves don’t won’t to give up Towns, Edwards or Russell so what do they actually have after that? Not much. The easiest trade for both teams would be Russell and pieces for Simmons. 76ers get their allstar and additional assets. Wolves get their guy that can transform their defence. The only reason this won’t happen is because Russell is Towns’ boy.

I thought Russell would be an all-star coming out of college because he had so much skill already at Ohio State (looked to be a really great flashy passer and 40% 3pt guy, it just hasn't translated) but his lack of defense and his ball stopping style just seem to have him written off by a lot of people. I wouldn't be 100% sure he wouldn't get benched in a tough playoff series for Curry's shooting or a developing Tyrese Maxey.

In theory, something like Russell and a 1st from Minny to Philly, Simmons to Minnesota and then a Minnesota firsts and Okogie to say OKC for Lu Dort (or any similar Minny pick and player to a rebuilding team for a wing who can start at the 3 for Philly) makes sense. But in practice, I'm not sure Philly would trust Russell for their title hopes over a guy like McCollum even though he's younger.
Where's the D?
