Re: 2021-22 Hawks National TV Schedule
Now I'm conflicted. Is it worth getting my Full Season Hawks Game Package as an out of towner if 25% of the games are on regular TV?

Re: 2021-22 Hawks National TV Schedule
CBS Sports2021-22 NBA schedule release
...with the announcement of the NBA schedule, which the league revealed Friday afternoon, now we know the entire regular season schedule which includes some special highlights as the NBA celebrates its 75th anniversary. In celebration of that anniversary, the league will have "classic matchups" that pay homage to the first season back in 1946.
The final "classic matchup" will happen on Jan. 7 between the Los Angeles Lakers and Atlanta Hawks, which marks the 50th anniversary of when the Lakers beat the Hawks for their 33rd-straight win, which is still the longest winning streak in NBA history.
Another important day on the NBA's calendar is Martin Luther King Jr. Day, on Jan. 17th, where 12 games will take place starting at 12:30 p.m. ET. The league will have three nationally televised games that day, with the Memphis Grizzlies hosting the Chicago Bulls at 3:30 p.m. ET, followed by the Bucks visiting the Hawks in Atlanta and closing out the full day of games will be the Jazz playing the Lakers at Staples Center on NBA TV.

so what are you gonna do, not get it and then not watch 75% of the Hawks games this year? Great plan

Not that I want to get in the way of giving @jamallo a hard time, but maybe he means he's gonna get a smaller package?
I dunno how these things work.

Or just get the month-to-month plan...and skip January and February.

but then you'll still miss a lot of games. You're ok with that? Me personally, I'm not cool with missing a single quarter of Hawks basketball all season long.

@jamallo could always come to my house to watch games.
Of course I wouldn't let him in, but he can peek through the blinds from the lawn.

I'm old, shakes0.
I've been a hard-core Hawks fan since 1995. I've watched hundreds of games over that time.
I can only remember a few.

I'm at the point where i can live if I miss a February Orlando game on the second night of a back-to-back before the All Star Break.
I'll just watch the highlights on YouTube.

The fact that RealGM messed up the link and posted the discussion on the Atlanta Hawks TV schedule is all the proof anyone needs that nobody cares about Lauri Markannen.
I_Like_Dirt wrote:The whole comparison to Kevin McHale is ridiculously close, imo... And that's without more hilarious aspects of the comparison, e.g. if Wally Sczerbiak were 7 feet tall with the slower reflexes that came with the additional height, he'd be Bargnani.

Re: 2021-22 Hawks National TV Schedule
Bleacher ReportTim Daniels wrote:Hawks 2021-22 Schedule: Top Games, Championship Odds and Record Predictions
Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks pushed their championship window open during a run to the Eastern Conference Finals last season, and now the franchise will attempt to hunt down its first title since 1958 when it was based in St. Louis.
Atlanta didn't make any major roster upgrades during the offseason, but it was able to re-sign two key contributors from last season's squad, John Collins and Lou Williams. The front office also added Duke's Jalen Johnson with the 20th overall pick in the 2021 NBA draft.
Season Forecast
The Hawks are one of the swing teams in the Eastern Conference.
Are they going to take a step forward to compete with a group expected to include the Bucks, Brooklyn Nets, Philadelphia 76ers and Miami Heat in what could be a crowded race atop the standings? Or are they a step below those teams and will need to fight to avoid the play-in tournament?
It's a tough situation to analyze because of the limited roster turnover. From a talent standpoint, Atlanta didn't get significantly better or worse during the summer, but it's also important to point out the version of the Hawks from the playoffs was a step above what they'd shown in the regular season.
Depth is one thing working to the team's advantage. All nine of the players who averaged more than 10 points last season are scheduled to return, and having a go-to superstar like Young always tends to help when it comes to close games.
On the flip side, the Hawks must improve at the defensive end if they want to keep pace with the league's elite. Their ESPN BPI rating on defense (-3.5) was the NBA's third-worst mark last season.
One thing's for sure: Young only has one goal in mind.
"When we bring the city of Atlanta a championship," he told ESPN in June about when he'll be satisfied.
While that may not have been an achievable goal during the first few seasons of Young's career, it's now a realistic target for the Hawks after coming within two wins of the Finals last season.
Even if Atlanta doesn't finish with one of the top few records in the East, it'll be a tough out in the postseason for a second straight year.
Record Prediction: 47-35

Interesting that we have 4 national games in the first 2 weeks and then 0 for the better part of a month.

kinda weird, but just looks like a coincidence. The rest of the season we seem to be on national TV at least once every 1-2 weeks.
