I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Yep. Shohei is probably the greatest athlete any of us will see in our lives. Baseball just does a horrible job of marketing him.

Giannis looks like a giant standing next to Stearns and Mark A.
Hope Giannis can bring the Brewers luck to win the world series this year. Milwaukee with two world champions in the same year would be absolutely incredible.

So when can we talk about how a couple posters were talking about shopping Giannis during the Nets series

The doubters, haters, roster churners, and Giannis diminishers received a valuable life lesson with this championship. It's going to be a while before they regroup and console themselves with the absurd "if Durant wore a half-size smaller shoe..." argument, as though a series could be distilled down to one play to the exclusion of everything else and all the achievements before and after.
H.L. Mencken defined Puritanism as "the haunting fear that someone, somewhere, may be happy." The downer posters on this board sometimes seem to share that world view. The happiness now here because of Giannis, and the much-maligned Khris Middleton, must be like sunlight to a vampire to them.

Game 3 was an abomination of a game for Giannis and never needs to be brought up again. Leave us alone.MiltownHawkeye wrote:So when can we talk about how a couple posters were talking about shopping Giannis during the Nets series

When he talks about the city loving him and helping him make him who is is today and how he wants to stay in Milwaukee and give back... I mean just all the feels man.
I don't know if we've ever had a superstar who loved our city so much.

weve been talking about it and the main one probably being me has been bringing it up.
only thing i can counter with is that as stupid as that was in retrospect.....at least i wasnt in the group that for years wanted to clear middleton for cash.
i only lost my mind facing him walking last summer and then after the 50 point loss to the nets. i went blind on emotion for a week here and there with giannis no doubt..... but at least thats better than doubting yourself with a lack of basic intellect for YEARS with the middleton thing
really the only people that can stand on the high hill is the guys that never questioned that pairing. thats really only a select few on the board. its cool to basically KNOW we have that paring for years to come and can move on.
moving on..... that news conference gave me more goosebumps than the parade the way he talked about milwaukee. that man is some kind of special.

I wasn’t on the trade Giannis right this moment train but I was super down on him during the first series and a half of the playoffs. Anybody not concerned about his playoff ability at that time was fooling themselves. Especially after the past couple years.
I don’t want to go back down this road again after the great run we had but it wasn’t just shooting bad, he was straight up looking off guys to jack up a three while being 1/7. It was just bizarre stuff from him, but **** all that he and the bucks turned it around and we’re the champions. I was wrong idc and it feels great to be wrong. Now when are people going to start admitting Bud is one of the best coaches in the league and screaming fire Bud after every loss is almost as bad as the trade Giannis takes

Atleast you admited you were wrong, kept posting throughout the playoffs and you are still here happy as the rest of us. The other guy who started all the trade Giannis bs and called us all fools and cowards for not admiting he is right basically quitted the forum after the game 6 of the Nets series. He wasn't even a troll account with 100 posts or something. Coolhandluke121 has like 10k post history.

But is CHL happy? he was posting 15 posts per day when it looked Bucks were losing to the Nets and he has not posted since. Either he is embarrassed for all the crap he wrote in which case we have to invite him back or he is sad he cannot continue writing the same kind of crap with the same kind of authority.

I think he should be happy. Giannis' value is at all time high right now so he should be able to make some insane deals in the trade machine atm. Proper championship level roster for just 1 of our players. High level IQ stuff.

The next day after Giannis became a Brewers owner, the slumping Yelich goes off with 2 homers including a grand slam in today's game. Looks like the Giannis effect is working, need Yelich to get hot.

That's the right attitude. And don't take his or any other poster's insults personally. Some people can't disagree without being disagreeable, and he's insulted me regularly for over ten years both on this board and earlier ones.
Maybe it was just frustration at all the disappointments over the years -- disappointment we all shared and internalized in different ways. Now that we have a championship team to root for, I expect the blanket criticisms and blow-it-up proposals to be more muted. True, when we lose a game or two people will still say we give up too many threes, miss too many ourselves, should improve at the two, and should change in many other ways.
But when that happens, now we can point to the banner in the rafters. It's good to be the champs.

Didn't even notice CHL going into hiding. Didn't pick him being that soft. Imagine taking your sports opinions that seriously? Come on mate if you're lurking, who gives a **** about being wrong, you can still be a fan of a champion team right?
