Brad didn't get a star player, but all the moves made really improved the team.

Right now the Celts are a more balanced and bigger team.

I won't be surprised if the Celts end up as one of the top 3 teams in the east this coming season.

It's nice to have a positive outlook. :)

They certainly could be. Most of that depends on tatum though. Will he take another big leap or be practically the same player? If he and brown take another big leap, robert take a small leap and stay healthy, etc, they could very well be the surprise of the season. I also think horford will be a nice surprise. He is older and not the same player he was but he is certainly not washed. He will be big for this team, me thinks.

Adding Schroder, Richardson, Horford and Kanter gives this team a chance to be pretty good this season.

We still need a guy that's 6'8 or taller that can shot 3s and defend, in order for us to be scary.

Tatum, Brown, Smart, Horford, Rob Williams, Pritchard and Nesmith is not a lotto team.

Let's pump the breaks on Pritchard and Nesmith for a second. They are just ok for now.

RWill can't be counted on. That team would have been 6-8 seed at best with a freak injury for even 2 months of being a lottery team.

But I'm glad Brad went out and got some new pieces in Schroder, Richardson and Kanter in a gap year or whatever we want to call this upcoming season.

It’s not really a gap year anymore after using up all that cap space, but yeah, it feels like everyone just forgot last season.

The reason for optimism does not have as much to do with Tatum and Brown, as it does with the addition of Horford, Josh Richardson, and Dennis Schroder (who thankfully fell into our lap). Those three players have really solidified our lineup. Not enough has been said about adding Josh Richardson, but I feel he is going to be an impactful player for us. I also think bringing back Enes Kanter was a great move, especially at that price. We know what we can expect from him. Scoring and rebounding. Now factor in what the young guys bring with a year (or two) of NBA play under their belts... We've seen a taste in Summer League, and I expect they will continue to show growth and meaningfully contribute this coming season. If Timelord can stay healthy, look out!

True on all accounts. But all this said, nobody has us as a title contender right now. I mean, not even close.

We were "predicted" as a 4th seed last year. Then we played like nancies after the jump ball. Teams got better ya but we got much better - on talent - and we're more balanced and better be more engaged with the new coaching structure.

Well said patsfan. It's not a gap year. That mindset has to be gone this season. The coaching change and roster upgrades predicted when JT and JB were ready are here now. Expectations will be and should be very high this year.

Let's go get Kyle Anderson. Come on Brad! Put your thinking cap on, and you'll realize that the iron is hot.

If the asking price is similar I would prefer Nance. But KA might be cheaper. wouldn't mind him as well. Hate his nick-name "Slo Mo" but he does make the extra pass and play defense. Shoots OK. More positives then negatives.

Redick doesn't want to play the whole year. He wants to wait until midseason and then go ring chasing, depending on what the standings look like then.

Zero chance he’s made available. HOU has a good roster and will be trying to win. Besides there’s be a long line of suitors with much more to offer than us. Why would we need him? According to this board TimeLord is a burgeoning top 5-10 center?!

He is apparently really dumb with very poor work ethic. I haven’t been more wrong about a prospect than him. But we can’t know if these guys are knuckleheads or not

as a player, hell YES, but at what cost??? would Boston even be willing to give up a player (Houston doesn't need wings) and a first??? 1sts equal assets that we are supposed to save for a BEAL move.

If by Allstar break Boston/Tatum gets the indication Beal won't be coming, then trade away for C Wood I say.
