What would our rotation be in another playoff series against the Nets?

Would Portis be playable next season in a series against them? Because he was DNPed for the last 3 games of the Nets series.

Would Nwora see the floor outside of garbage time? Hopefully Bud actually plays him in meaningful situations during the regular season with starters so we can see what we have in him. I want to see how he would do and if he would adapt his game to compliment the starters.

Does Diakete have any role? Ojele?

Brook/Portis
Giannis
Middleton/Pat
DDV/Allen
Jrue/Hill
still learning the game

Well one of Diakite, Hood, Ojaleye and Nwora will be gone by buy-out season, if we make no other moves now.

Two of those are not like the others.

Most likely Diakite. Although i wont be surprised if one of Hood or Ojaleye get shipped out after a short on the job audition. Dont really know what to think about Nwora right now but i still feel like he can play a role for us. He was never supposed to be the focal point of an offense.

Unless Hood's injury history catches up with him, I don't think they get rid of either unless there is a trade.

If Hood can recover from his injury he'll be great for us.

I think one is not like the others--ojaleye. He's the only one who's almost certain to get regular minutes. They are hoping that Hood will be fully recovered and playable, but that is not certain at all.

I'm starting to think so too. There is a log jam for playing time on the wing, but it wouldnt surprise me to see Hood emerge.

Is it too early to know who some of those people might be?

Just look at expiring contracts on bad teams that probably don't have much trade value and you'll get your answer. For example, Ricky Rubio's got an expiring deal for the Cavs but I think they should be able to find a trade partner for him. If Portland falls off, Covington has an expiring contract but Portland should be able to find a trade partner for him.

Gary Harris and Robin Lopez are two guys who I don't think Orlando would get much in the way of trade offers and might buyout. Running it back with Robin as a guy that you can throw at Embiid for 15 minutes in a playoff series isn't the worst idea.

Throw away a roster spot on a guy who can't guard Embiid, on the off chance we play Embiid in the playoffs, despite the fact that the series won't be close even if Imbiid goes off, but more likely he'll be struggling with injury?

I'm not in favor of this idea. Stay away from the buyout market. Get a good roster in place now.

If history is our guide, it will be old players who are too old and slow to keep up in the playoffs.

I don't think anyone would disagree with having the roster in place now that you're ready to go through the season with. But if that doesn't happen and buyout options are available that might provide some benefit it wouldn't make sense to not explore those options.

Rather have Hartenstein than Marc to be honest.

The only offseason move I liked is Semi to replace PJ.

So we replaced Forbes with Allen using Merrill & assets 2 2nds to acquire him
Signed G. Hill using our MLE to replace Teague, while Schroeder became available afterwards and maybe we could get Pat Beverley in a trade.
Drafted 2 non NBA players Mamu, George (bad selections imo but it is rare to find a good player like Merrill again that low. )
Anyway the thing I don't like is that , we traded
Sam Merrill + # 31 for Allen , Mamu and George.
I can swallow the trade, but with the loss of Forbes it looks way worse. If we could keep Forbes I would be OK. I don't know what Hood and Donte can give us, I expect nothing from them and most importantly I don't know their availability cause of their severe injuries. I expect nothing from Hill too to be honest. He looks washed in my eyes.
Anyway nothing to panic about but we lost 2 players Tucker and Forbes that contributed to winning and added players with injury concerns and asterisks for their playoff performances, especially shooting wise.
Defensively we look really good though. maybe Nwora does a Forbes come playoffs and things fall into place and we repeat.

Must have had a terrific off-season if Fotis hates all the moves.

I don’t think the Bucks signed Hood on day 1 with the idea that he’s a crapshoot. Pretty sure they know he’s going to contribute.

What’s so great about Forbes anyways ? He’s basically unplayable unless he’s hot. Merrill never saw the floor but he’s a major loss ? He couldn’t even beat out a guy they signed a week before the playoffs started.

I don't know how you can say "Forbes contributed to winning" when he was pretty trash after the first round and Teague was getting past him on the depth chart
