If SI wants to disrespect the Raptors, I will put SI on its side in any store I see it in so that nobody will buy them and it’ll affect their bottom line.
Better than giving them clicks.

The season can't come soon enough. But in the meantime.
One thing that I've found confusing about Scottie is his seemingly inconsistent bounce. He's tested well and he shows good lift at times, but not always.
Then I think about guys like VC who looked pretty athletic in highschool and college but nothing like when he reached his peak in the NBA.
Then you have guys like Westbrook, Dwight, and Giannis who just looked like regular athletes in their teens.
;t=5s
Lebron was different in that regard and was always a freak. But if a guy like Barnes can learn how to perfect his jump mechanics and continue to get stronger like the players listed above maybe he'll be able to do more with his athleticism going forward.
The one thing I will say is that Vince, Westbrook and Dwight demonstrate a mentality of wanting to slam on you which I'd like to see more from Barnes too. I've seen it times, but him being able to shift his mindset and play like that more consistently will help him to take of advantage of advantages he already has.

I know what you mean, it's almost like he stops midway and doesn't fully explode to dunk with two feet. He tried it once in summer league with one foot and perhaps it's just him being careful cuz it's summer league. I noticed a few times during games where he goes up on both feet and either doesn't get as much lift or got fouled before he got to his peak. Hoping with strength and conditioning he'll get better at that considering his measurements on vertical.

Forget the whole consensus thing. They took Barnes's picture (that black silhouette is Barnes lol) , blacked it out and had the nerve to tag him on the tweet.

Also if you think about it it’s 4 guys that will probably be starters and get starters minutes while Barnes has will come off the bench and has to fight with Siakim/OG for minutes.

I think the fact that Barnes has the best frame, defensive instincts, and the best development team to go to should be very auspicious for him in itselfTheRealDeal wrote:720 wrote:Did you guys see this ****? So **** ing wild.

I didn't even notice there was a silhouette there (I'm looking at this on my phone). That's some high-effort trolling.

Blind react video to Scottie's SL debut, pretty fun.

Seems about right for all the top picks IMO. It's the "Potential rating" I usually look for. He could be a 76 with a A+ potential.

Really great article from the Stepien.

Although Jalen Suggs may have been a more seamless fit, or perhaps one that requires less creativity to imagine, Scottie Barnes is an extremely gifted prospect who has many developmental avenues to becoming a high level contributor on very good teams. Scottie has real creation potential with ball in hand for his size, and impressive defensive versatility. He makes good decisions as a passer, but he needs to work on his shooting and flexibility to maximize the utility of those tools and skills in half court settings.
I generally bet on higher feel prospects, especially those with lots of experience, translating well to the NBA and Barnes is no exception. He has the outlines of a real dribble/pass/shoot skill set in a forward sized body, and if he can improve in the necessary areas, Scottie will be a context-portable weapon on both ends of the floor. Due to his across-the-board contributions and experience fulfilling a variety of roles, he could unlock an increased amount of flexibility for the Raptors to fill out the rest of their roster as the rebuild (or reconfigure) continues. For a team without a clear direction right now, I think the pick is a great one if a little surprising, and I’m excited to watch Scottie’s career unfold.

That was a really good read. One is the most detailed analyses of him I've seen.
