See the link

Ooh, I'm guessing you meant Wood going to Washington.

No. The trade is something that works in the checker and I really did not put a whole lot of time and thought into it. Christian Wood Stays right where he is. Since the New York Knicks make out like bandits they probably send the wizards additional compensation. Since the wizards enable the Houston Rockets to get out of Jon walls deal a little quicker they probably send a draft pick as well to the wizards…

It’s gonna be a while before I get back to these posts so ignore them if they calls you cognitive dissidents

Look at them again now that I have sort of given you my rationale and see that they make a whole lot more sense in y’all thought at first glance

Eyeglass appointment in the very near future bifocals are on the way and so is a lot of other good things

Probably the best Wizards trade involved with Simmons I've seen on this board, but agree with mhd, I don't think it makes sense for Minny. Even if you think they are going for a playoff run under new ownership around Towns, Simmons, and Russell and they are really bullish on Malik Beasley, you would have to believe they'd also have a few picks going their way. I suppose maybe Minny values Simmons a lot higher than other team because they feel they can pair him with a perimeter oriented big ala Towns, someone that will give him the paint unlike Embiid, but Edwards seems like a lot to gamble away in hoping the stars align with Simmons.

With that said, pretty much no-brainer from Philly and the Wizards perspectives. Wizards then go into the deadline looking for contenders to jettison a couple of our valuable, veteran role players, for future assets.
Perhaps Nate can come up with a Karl Anthony Towns idea to DC also involving Beal?

I don't care how good Edwards gets I'd rather have Towns right now

I don't think a Beal-Towns swap makes a whole lot of sense for either team, to me it trades old problems for new ones. Certainly would make zero sense for Minny IMO.

Towns so better than Beal.

SG is easily replaced

I think the biggest problem would be that Beal wouldn't agree to an extension with Minnesota.

Monday morning I have a casting call online. Yeah it’s as big as your thing. On Thursday last week I managed to lose my glasses. The ones I use for driving. But the good news is I’m only sort of near sighted and I can see fine to drive without them.

Walmart is a place I might get to on Monday but I have other stuff after the casting call. Every day I’ve been going to this clinic where they doing something called RTMS. It’s working I’m glad to say

What other assets - other than Edwards and Towns - does Minnesota have that even begins to get them Simmons?

JAKE LAYMAN

In the form of a Jeopardy question who is a guy getting paid instead of mellow tremble? How is it possible that he is still on the payroll of the Minnesota Timberwolves?

I’m only half kidding when I say that a white player like Jake Lehman is an asset. If every NBA team had four or five white players in the league would be better in my opinion. Yeah I just put out there to start some ****

Larry Nance? Not much to the article really other than Garrison Mathews was mentioned.

Beyond me to understand why Garrison Mathews doesn't already have a job.

Doesn't surprise me...although I think he's an NBA player and will be on an NBA team this season.

Mystified.
The guy can play. and he's a shooter, the one skill the NBA really wants right now. No offense to Cassius Winston, but I don't understand how we sign him and let Garrison go.

Yeah, passible defense, elite shooter. Seems like a guy who fits the modern NBA very well. How have the Lakers not picked him up for the minimum already? Unless he and his agent are holding out for more than that.

Winston was signed on a 2-way deal, so he doesn't take up a roster spot and doesn't count toward our cap. Mathews, entering his 3rd season, is no longer eligible to be a 2-way player.

I do too.

IMO, it's even possible that the Wiz intend to move somebody & already have a deal worked out for Mathews to return.

Not that I have any concrete reason to think so! :) Pulling for him, tho, one way or another.

Glad you brought up Winston.

When I look at his college numbers & compare them with Holiday, & when I look at college footage of the two guys, I find it hard to understand why anyone would think of Holiday as having particularly more promise than Winston.

Then I look at their 20-21 NBA numbers. Now... of course you can't rely on results that reflect 100 minutes, so no real conclusions can be taken away from a comparison of Winston & Holiday. But the numbers are still there & worth a look.

Winston's numbers were significantly better than Holiday's. Per 40 minutes, he scored a little more than Holiday -- & at a higher TS% than Holiday as well. He had a higher 3 pt. % than Holiday too. & that was on more attempts than Holiday as well.

In fact Cassius Winston had the highest 3pt. % on the Wizards last year. & was 3d in attempts per 40 minutes as well (behind only Bertans & Mathews). I'm going to guess that you didn't know that.

Winston was also a better rebounding guard than Holiday -- both on defense & on offense. Plus he got more assists than Holiday. & turned it over less than Holiday too.

Again, 100 minutes isn't something to rely on. But in those 100 minutes, Cassius Winston was significantly more productive than Aaron Holiday. He's also a year and a half younger than Aaron Holiday.
