That isn't why lol
Two way players don't count against the cap: https://cbabreakdown.com/contract-types#:~:text=Like%20a%20Summer%20Contract%20(discussed,a%20Two%2DWay%20Contract).

2 way contracts don’t count against the tax. He was a decent summer league player on our team. Probably a bunch of players on other teams who played even better they have eyes on most of us don’t even know about.

If you're competing you're in tax. We're not comparing ourselves to the bottom half of the league that's happy for a couple playoffs a decade.

There are always other players available elsewhere that warrant an extended look against NBA caliber competition. Same with your own NBA hopefuls. Why fill both two-way spots now?
Miami loves Garrett and it was almost a given he was getting one of the 2-way deals. Everyone else was getting Exhibit 10 contracts and compete for that 2-way deal during camp and pre-season. Smart if yo ask me.
Deeky did the right thing for himself and secured the 2-way contract from the Pacers.
Also, I always thought it was going to be an either/or with Deeky as far as 2-way deal with the other one keeping an Exhibit 10 agreement to the G-League. Both have similar skillsets. I think Miami did well.

Ok, I'm sorry. I know I'm very negative now, and I'm trying to avoid posting because of my general dissent, but none of this makes sense. A two-way player can be replaced at any time, so there is no disadvantage to signing Jareau or anyone else now to guarantee another team doesn't poach them.
Unless the Heat sign a much better player this is an error. It's probably not a big mistake, but someone screwed up.
Anyone that watched Houston basketball knows what he could do. The criticism is all correct too. He shoots a lot of bricks. With the right teacher though and a good work ethic, who knows what we could have done?
I'm pretty convinced we're going to sign Rondo. I probably shouldn't even go outside. There is likely a lightning bolt pointed at me.
