I’m high on George Hill, but if he is running out of gas (or gets hurt again), we’ll need that guard depth quick.

Taking a closer look at our depth, if we have perfect health (which we won’t), we have 9 guys who appear to be capable of being rotation players on a deep playoff run:

1. Jrue 2. Hill 3. Allen 4. Donte 5. Khris 6. Pat 7. Giannis 8. Lopez 9. Bobby

We then have 4 others who theoretically can play situationally at least:

10. Hood 11. Semi 12. Thanasis 13. Nwora

…and then the rest who probably won’t even get much of a shot (if any) this season:

14. Bryant 15. Georgio 16. Mamu 17. Diakite

Open questions include: Can Hood provide anything? Does Semi just suck? Is Thanasis only a cheerleader? Does Nwora really deserve a shot if only situationally? And are we even pretending to see potential in Bryant and Diakite or just waiting to cut them?

Dunc'd on Podcast is so **** lol. During the playoffs they are s**** on PJ lol, now they're saying O I would've prioritized PJ over Portis lmao. Fn tools.

Have said my piece on PJ many times, but prioritizing him over Portis would have been very short-sighted and arguably not even accurately so.

The Bucks have already addressed some of what you are looking for in Hill and Allen. I think unlocking small ball lineups with a player that can switch 1-5 and shoot 40% from 3 on 5 attempts a game would be ideal. I would also then try to bring in Avery Bradley with the open roster spot.

Jrue / Hill
Allen / Pat
Khris / Ojeleye / Hood
Giannis / Finney-Smith
Lopez / Portis

Jrue / Allen / Khris / Finney-Smith / Giannis - small ball lineup.

Also, the Finney-Smith trade actually works, although I do not think Dallas does it.
DFS was definitively the second best player on the Mavs when they almost knocked out the Clips with Kawhi. For him to be the second best player on a team of that quality means he isn't getting salary dumped for two lesser players with 1 yr left on their deals.

DFS is one of the more underrated role players out there.

I heard those guys. They gave us a C-. Agree, that Bobby is more important than PJ for a variety of reasons.

Conspiracy theory alert: Given how Nate always talks trash about ownership (sometimes in a mocking form), feels like one of those situations where he once criticized the team, and Alex jumped all over him. And as a result, Nate remembers. I could be wrong in that theory.

Solid B from me. More quality in than out, more ball-handling in than out. Pieces look like they fit. Draft picks have a [small] chance. Solid work.

Fill out the 20 man with some interesting Exhibit 10s (Tarke, Matt Coleman, Vital?) and see who impresses enough for the 2nd 2-way.

Thinking about what we can reasonably expect from Semi.

Will he be a situational defensive specialist who can hit wide open 3's, or more of an end of bench guy who might not even beat out Thanasis in the rotation?

Took a look at the Celtics board thread and (all caveats aside about Boston fans and their salty clam chowda) few seem to be shedding any tears about losing him:

Semi sucks at doing anything basketball related besides shooting 3's and playing physical D on big dudes. If you can put him in a role where all he does is that, you probably can get a rotation player out of him.

Semi has more value for us , cause he could play in our Death Lineup ... filling PJ's role .
On the other hand Boston doesn't need him on a death lineup cause ... SF Tatum, PF Brown C Horford.

I am not saying Semi has a reserved slot at our death lineup, cause Portis could fill that role, but Semi is a tool for Bud to replicate Tucker in lineups. We will have to watch how things will play out.

So Jrue, Pat, Khris, Semi, Giannis could be our new death lineup. I am sure Pat has gain alot of confidence and probably Pat is ahead of Donte and Allen for the SG role in the death lineup.

If Semi is in our “death” lineup our season is dead.

I thought about spoiler tags, but I figured nearly SEVEN YEARS had been enough time passed.

It's just a dream sequence?...

Surprised it's only a 3 year extension tbh
