It seems like 4yr/$44mil buys alot of American flags and when he signs a shoe deal his Big Meech 1s will come in red, white and blue.

If you go in that thread, within the first 5 pages someone had posted a fair market value of 5 years $189 million, yall were buggin

Not my point and I wasn’t buggin like that because I don’t set market values. If anything, I’m usually gun shy about anything max unless we can get a top 10 player. It is certainly why I was encouraged that Randle took what I still think is a generous deal without trying to squeeze every dollar out of the franchise.

Was just saying you really didn’t want Mitch at all and I can see this FO still interested in retaining him at the right price.

I don’t remember that post, but most of your posts were fairly negative about him, though I can understand you may have said that which was actually quite reasonable. On balance, I had you pegged as the Anti-Mitch

I'm not anti-Mitch at $10-12 million per season, I am Anti-Mitch if he's getting Jarrett Allen type money and would trade him in a heartbeat if he asks for anything remotely close to that. I have been pretty transparent in how I view team building, and burning money on C's who aren't top tier offensive guys is something I can't stand. I hate the Nerlens contract if he's not starting or traded, you don't pay a backup C that kind of money when there's a lot of guys out there that can give you similar results for vet minimums.

Fair enough. Noel is a bit overpaid, I agree. He’s a beanpole who gets bodied by big butts. He does good stuff, but I think Mitch is on a whole other level compared to Noel so I hope he can stay healthy, because Mitch is very impactful IMO and if he can compete in the playoffs I think his defense there will make a big difference.

Only team next off-season with cap space is Detroit. I think we’ll be able to extend Mitch on a bargain deal.

My worry with Mitch is that his FT% has decreased every year, from .600 to .568 and finally .491 last year.

If teams foul him instead of giving up finishes at the rim, then it's gonna be a major problem for this squad. Can he be on the floor in the last 5 minutes of a close game?

While in theory a worse player overall, Noel by contrast is a 70% free throw shooter. It actually showed down the stretch of several games where he was sent to the line and was able to convert.

This is a great point, there's just no way you can really play him late in a playoff game if he's shooting 49% from the line. I'm fine with bringing Mitch back, but a lot of fans have a really inflated idea of what he is and what he can do.

He should definitely get less than someone like Robert Williams, who flashed some passing well beyond what Mitch has shown, and was more productive on a per minute basis pretty much across the board.

If we can wrap up Mitch at 11 mil per and he stays healthy it is like that Camby deal we go before he blew up. Mitch can be a top 10 center. If he ends up injury prone and on the bench, we can live with the 11 mil tied. I would love that deal. I am okay going to 15.

He's not worth $15 million per though, Robert Williams is getting $13.5 million per, he was more productive as a starter on less minutes per game and the advanced stats people love to use all favor Williams. I don't see why Mitch should get more than him, the market was set for Mitch when Williams got his deal. There's no need to give him that kind of money when we have leverage with Nerlens being here too.

Rumor has it Mitch doesn't really want Vildoza on the team, especially after they successfully expelled Frank

I think he can earn what Robert Williams makes as a ceiling maybe go up to 14, but the final year should be a team option.
