1. Chet Holmgren | PF | Age: 19.3 | Gonzaga

2. Paolo Banchero | PF/C | Age: 18.7 | Duke

3. Jaden Hardy | SG | Age: 19.1 | G League Ignite

4. Jalen Duren | C | Age: 17.7 | Memphis

5. Caleb Houstan | SF | Age: 18.6 | Michigan

Correct me if I’m wrong but this is just a big board prospects list and not all these players are eligible for the 2022 draft? I feel like I can remember something about Jalen Duren reclassifying but due to being born a couple months too late (past cutoff) he’s ineligible?

Edit: My bad, I mixed him up with Emoni Bates.

Things can obviously change alot but as of right now I'm really wanting Banchero.

This draft is setting up perfectly for the Pistons considering their needs. It's all big guys or shooting guards at the top.

Also interesting that Holmgren is only three months older than Green.
Also, interesting that seeing these 2001 and 2002 birth dates is making me feel really freaking old and I'm not even that freaking old.

Caleb Houston was Cade's teammate in HS I believe. Will be good to get a look at him at Michigan this year. He is also a Canadian which it seems like a lot of our team is currently. Will be interesting to see how his year at Michigan goes and if he is there at our pick.

Daimion Collins should be our guy next year: 6-9 athletic PF with a great 7-5 wingspan, big defensive presence, an outside shot and some other offensive moves.

I really like Banchero the most Hardy is nice to. Hopefully we get another top 3 pick this season. Chet is a guy I'd like to stay away from at the top.

If it's near the end of the Top 10, I'll be watching Moussa Diabate of Michigan 6'11" with a 7'4"+ wingspan. He's looks like a young Bam. I don't think they'll be near the Top 3, unless Big Ben reps them again at the draft lottery.

I want Houstan the most personally I think he’s going to be the best player in the draft. The reason is because of Howard. The type of coach he is very detail oriented and always has his schedule set and is punctual with it. That’s like Tobias Harris. They’re professionals like that. So I know Michigan is gonna be a very good team this year and I also know Howard does very well with recruitment, better than Bielein because of his connection to the NBA. Houstan will be very well coached for a whole year straight which may include a visit to the National Championship in March Madness. The best part is I think he’ll fall in the 5-10 range which is where I think we’ll be picking next year.

i've only scratched the surface for this year's prospects (and they still have a full season to play) but right now hardy and banchero are the most intriguing to me. we have need at both positions long-term (hardy defend PGs and play SG on offense, banchero replacing grant at PF eventually) and both have good skill sets to grow.

there's a lot of things that make curry/lillard/young special players but their deep 3 ability opens their game up and hardy is on par with those guys as a deep shooter. honestly the prospect of a cade/hardy backcourt is very exciting.

Caleb Houstan playing for Michigan and being Cade's high school teammate makes him seemingly a good fit. He is also from Canada like CoJo, Kelly O, and Trey Lyles so he's someone who would be fine with the weather and staying in the area.

The downside being that he's a 6'8" SG/SF so his fit in a 1/2/3 with Cade and Bey might depend on just how good Cade is at handling the ball....

Also, I still think Josh Jackson could end up being great for us this season as a 6'8" SF as well so Houstan might not really fit a need as much as some of the other draft prospects.

I think we need an athletic wing that can shoot and defend. I don’t think Diallo or Josh Jackson are the answer. I like Jaden Ivey. Good set shot and athletic as hell. He was so good in the Fiba U19 World Cup.

Big fan of that kid going back to last season. He has a flair for the big moment too. I wouldn't be shocked if he slides into the top 5 of a lot of scouting lists by the end of the year.

The past 3 seasons the MVP has gone to the Greek Freak twice and Jokic once. With Doncic likely getting an MVP soon.

Nothing wrong with drafting international , just need to pick the right guys

So far I like Paolo Banchero and Damion Collins the most.

They need a 4/5 that can fight other star bigs (Giannis, AD, Jokic, Bam) on both sides of the floor to help out Beef Stew.

Cade can handle 1-3. He’s the alpha scorer and closer.
Bey is a 3 that shoots like a 2.
Grant can slide up to 3 when needed.
Saben has proven himself to be the backup 1 that can run things when Cade is on the bench.

Everybody else can get in where they fit in.

I think a star 2-way PF/C added to a core of Cade, Bey, Grant, and Stewart is the foundation for the next Pistons contender.

There’s only so much money to invest in stars with a salary cap, and you’ve gotta do it wisely.
