Might as well...I'm assuming the 2nd year of the extension is non guaranteed. Or is this just a 1 year extension?

1 year extension, so 2 years in total including this one

:dontknow: Kind of an odd way to announce this if it's only a one year extension. Why not just say a one year 12.4mm extension or "for a little over 12m?"

Confuses me at times, but technically its now a 2 year deal (always read the fine print!)

I know the spin is to claim this is to facilitate trades for a "Big Three" but that's not what this is. This is our team now for the next couple of seasons. Do people really believe Smart and Richardson are good returns for a star and this somehow makes them MORE attractive because they got extensions? smh.

This is who they decided is their core and what they hope is good enough. That's a scary thought. If you were excited about any of our young guys like Pritchard, Nesmith, Langford, Madar or Begarin, think again. Ime is all about low ceiling high floor veterans. The real question is, how soon does Tatum demand a trade.

It's a ruse. There's no way ANYONE could know what Ime is all about right now. He's never even been the head coach of a basketball team before.
and that's "MR. Irrelevant" to you!!

Yes, I do. If they play reasonably well, they will have asset value. The real value will be the picks and potentially/likely need to include someone like Nesmith, who also hopefully pops with some more run this year.

As for Ime, how the F do we know anything about what he likes for players? He was just working with a superstar trio and before that was assisting on a top-heavy Sixers squad. Also, this isn't really about Ime, this is clearly Brad running the show from the roster-building standpoint.

Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

I wish he wouldn't have said, "I'm the black Klay" but one thing Brown is going to do is put in that work!

It would be nice if the players wanna run through a wall, too. Hope it is indeed so and he can bring the best out of most of the guys we have here, especially Smart, Tatum, Brown and Schroeder(young guys, too, but I feel as if these 4 will be the most important to manage, Horfie is a good pro and I doubt he'll need to be pushed too much, he knows his job).

Can't wait until Sam Hauser leads us to a championship.
Good assessment:

Hell yeah. Jaylen's shot looking good, and looks like he's in great shape too.

You look at how much better he's gotten, literally every year he's been in the league. There's no question he's a hard worker. Excited to see what he has in store for us this season.

He's gonna end up way better than most of this board thinks. In his prime he will be a top 10-15 player in the league easily.

I agree, but there are many on this board that will alway dislike him.

25 years old
plays defense
25 ppg
6 rpg
3.5 apg
48.5 %
40% from 3

And only continuing to improve.

Horford's triumphant return is to play 15 minutes per game for 27.5 million per year?

I know, and it's quite ridiculous he isn't being shown much love around here. Just because Tatum is better, doesn't mean Brown can't be an all-nba player. Look at how he's improved every single season. The work ethic and commitment is undeniable. Top 10 player in 5 years :)
