Ingram won’t be available before season
Pelicans have dumped blame on coach, GM and Ball/Adams to appease Zion and his family
Still a crap roster so deadline more likely
31 wins was woeful

Are there any “win now” piece aside from Dame?
These are franchise players who are playing for teams that are looking to start from scratch. They’re like guys not younger than 30-31 years old.
If none, then we need to keep drafting these 18-20 points per 36 scorers like Maxey.
If only we landed Cam Thomas this draft and not Zhaire Smith 2.0, we’d be in the right direction.

No one is available that’s why the 76ers leaked that the trade talks have cooled down report. They’re bracing fans for the inevitable…
I’m still curious how it will all play out. Ben is the type of person that really cares about how he’s viewed. Fans are going to boo the crap out of him for at least the first few games. If they play well it will go away. Are Simmons/Paul cool with that? The entire NBA media will be aimed at the 76ers training camp and season. All eyes will be on Ben. I still don’t think he’s going to show up to camp. Probably pulls an Anthony Davis. Well see though….

It really is amazing the leeway this dude gets simply because he made a great trade for Harden almost a decade ago and was the mentor of Sam Hinkie. Dude hasn't done jack squat in this league for years, and has been Joe Generic since hired by the Sixers.
He has the second BEST RS record since his first year in the NBA.
Philly fans are the most toxic fans in the NBA. His first year we were the number 1 team in the East after 20 years, yeah, he is a disaster.
Go to watch the Eagles, crybaby.
Throwing the word ‘toxic’ all over the place is so dumb, and such a recent development. Seriously sack up and stop it.
Being a number one seed yet still losing in the 2nd round again as a favorite is not a good job. Dude is getting paid the big bucks to turn this team into a true contender, and yet we continue to wait for a Simmons deal (or any deal!) because the plan consists of praying Beal or Lillard ask out. That is not a plan.

Simmons officially has more trade Threads then fourth quarter FGAs in the ATL series. Welcome back to the fold Ben.
They say an analytics man doesn't have a heart, but I ran the numbers and nothing can be further from the truth - Sam Hinkie probably

They have been aimed at him for 5 years
He will be fine
Imagine if Joel had to cop a fraction of the heat aimed at Ben
Or Tobias
Or Doc
No way that Tobias and Doc should be at the Sixers today but they have stood back and allowed the world to dump on Simmons

It's unbelievable how little flack Tobias takes for being a worse player who is paid more than Ben.
If we never win a title with this team, we'll look back on the Tobias trade and contract as the killshot...

Scoreboard never lies

Doc and Tobias are first out the door
I have no problem with getting rid of Simmons but let’s not pretend that he’s the only problem

Ben is the target
I have no problem with him copping lots of blame and being traded BUT it’s getting ridiculous

Re: Ben Simmons Trade Thread Part 4
It’s really hard to evaluate Morey without knowing what deals were on the table. Fox, Lavine, Beal, SGA are fan pipe dreams that were never going to happen.
But if Morey turned down Halliburton/#9/Barnes or something to that effect for a less than 10% shot at Dame, that’s bad management. To not take a GS deal centered around Wiggins/Kuminga/Moody would have been bad as well.

Forget those pipe dreams
Patty Mills signed for the Nets for no money
Kemba signed for the Knicks for no money
Schroder signed with Celtics for no money
Gut feeling is that he’s hanging out for a home run with a Simmons trade but if he misses out and has ignored these opportunities, he should be sacked
No ifs, buts or maybes

Kemba was never choosing us over his hometown team. Mills was never choosing us over the Nets (better team, more opportunity to pay).
Schroeder is valid.

Re: Ben Simmons Trade Thread Part 4
we don't have any money and until the Ben situation is settled, thats the only move to be made that is "realistic".
Nobody wants Tobias' contract. Our other assets either don't make enough money, aint ****, or we need them more than other teams. It really is just Ben. I think Morey is a bit overrated (most GMs are) but the fact is that the past GMs blitzed through most of our assets and it is what it is.
So Ben either comes back and we bet on improvement from him or the youth; Or we wait out Dame...or we settle. Those are the 3 outcomes IMO. There could always be one team that gets desperate but relying on that is not realistic.
so relaaaaaax

I think Blazers landing Nance means no Dame trade for now (and roco sucks).

Simmons isn't going to gain value next season. Even if he starts off playing well during the regular season, no GM worth his salt is going to change their opinion on him, because it's all about the playoffs with him and everyone knows that. Going into the season with Simmons still part of the team would be utter GMing malpractice.

Feels like a Collin Sexton + Jarrett Allen trade is coming soon. Can't have 4 PF/Cs making that much money, well, unless you're the Sixers.

Wrong as usual. There are plenty of reasons we could get a better offer during the season as opposed to now.
You may not have the intellectual horsepower to understand those reasons, but Daryl Morey does.

Re: Ben Simmons Trade Thread Part 4
IMO it's all about getting the best value for Simmons even if the fit and timeline isn't ideal. If the best we can do for Simmons atm is high level prospects and picks, I say pull the trigger.
I honestly see little point in holding onto him given that his value is likely to continue to decrease and the team starts having chemistry and locker room issues assuming he's mentally checked out from this team and the fans and media further tank his value by booing him at home and posting endless stories about how he wants out of Philly.
We'd be semi-tanking the regular season (we saw firsthand how little it meant last year) until a star like Dame, Beal or someone else becomes available before or at the trade deadline and then cash in our assets for our playoff run.
