Kleber was disastrous in both playoffs series and people still believe in him. Who cares if he can shoot 40% for 3, if he can make only 1 per game, when it matters.
You're not winning anything with players like Kleber, Powell, WCS, DFS, Boban...but it looks they will retire here.
You're not winning with them as important starters you mean? Majority of them could play a role on a championship team, maybe even as starters, if other players in the starting lineup were stars. They can't be your 4th or 5th most important player though.
Dallas are generally carrying themselves as contenders, fiddling with the end of rotation pieces and specialists, when they should still be in the talent acquisition part of the build. Get your core together first, Bullocks, DFSs and Maxis come later and are not that hard to come by when your a bonafide contender.
I guess they're capped out now, but they should've been more aggressive when they still had capsapace and take low value bad contracts and picks and prospects that come with it. They wouldn't have been any worse than they were over the last two seasons imo, but at least they'd now have some assets to trade for someone impactful.
This team is stuck being middle of the pack playoff team for the foreseeable future now without any real avenues to improve. I mean we're all hoping KP gets the bounce in his knees back, but I'm not sure wishing for it's gonna get it done. The rest of the team is what it is, don't really see major potential for improvement...
