Where does that leave Mo and WCJ?

Lopez is much better than a 3rd string Center. And for many here that is evidence that either Carter or Bamba would be shipped.
That said, it's a one year deal and is a nice, tradeable contract that is also useful as an expiring.

I personally assume Lopez' real role is to be an in-game coach for Carter and Bamba. That is: teaching them both how to be better.

Given our roster and RoLo's abilities, I imagine his role was made very clear in discussions with his Agent. No question he is not here to start or block our two young Centers. He will be a great locker room guy, great example and enforcer, and more than capable of providing quality minutes when the others deserve a benching lesson...I also wouldn't be surprised if it's understood that he'll possibly be moved to a contender at the trade deadline.

Love this pickup for all of those reasons. We NEED one good young Center to emerge from our roster this year and we could possibly ship out the other young one and RoLo before the end of the season. It's one of our most significant storylines this season.

I think its as much about veteran leadership as having a 7 footer to go against in practice. Lopez was one of the best rim protectors last year, it will be huge for Suggs who has finishing problems to practice against him daily. He will need to polish his craft.

and, despite his goofy appearance...he's a legit tough guy. Can't have 7 footers who are afraid of opposing PG's.

Yeah, I was quietly pumped that we got him for all the reasons listed, but was concerned about him taking time from MO and WCJ...

Robin hasn't been good in quite some time now, 5 years execelly. Since 2016 his value is below replacment's level and his rebounding numbers reached Brook level- joke. He is turnover prone and clogs paint and he lost mobility so he just kind a exists around rim.

That being said, he is nice guy, funny guy and solid matchup for practice for Wendell and Bamba. But if at any point Robin looks like better alternative than them... oh Boy...

I'm just happy that they kinda came out and gave an idea of his purpose. Workout bruiser to help mature the young guys and push em forward.

I can't help but be intrigued by Lauri Markannen. Obviously, his contribution has declined in CHI, along with his role but he's 24, 7' and can shoot 3's in volume at a high level. No offer sheets to date and, apparently, CHI hasn't gotten close to re-signing him. It's clear he's not long for that team (and shouldn't be-Vuc is way better and they can't play together)...If he could be signed for 10x3 (or less) and/or traded for very little (I'd send back WCJ or maybe MCW, M. Wagner and DEN pick - or less).

Forget about who's already on our roster and think of how he could change the vision. I don't think highly of our Center spot...shooting is necessary in 2021 with a team full of speedy wings. He and Isaac at the big spots would be complementary. If Bamba wakes up, you'd have all sorts of combos to play with...LM strikes me as another high-upside/buy low reclamation project on a YOUNG guy in a bad spot. I'm for exploring adding shooting at any position-even if just a bench specialist (if we can pay him that way).

We probably are done for the summer but maybe something sneaky emerges that is worthwhile.

4/67M plus Nance and a pick. I don't get it. Think Portland and to a lesser degree the Bulls made out here.

Makes me feel extremely good about Isaac's 4/69.6M, regardless of injury risk.

really weird signing considering they signed allen to a 100m deal and drafted Mobley at 3 who i figured would play PF\C
So now one of the 3 is going to come off the bench......Seems like a weird use of resources
