Of course T.Hernández would strike out. That's 9 times in his last 20 ABs. He's no Mr. Clutch!

I'm all for moving on from him for next season and replacing him with another player. Who's with me?

Most of the Jays aren't Mr. Clutch. They are facing a pitcher with a 5.6 era and have one run in 6 innings with 1 for 8 RISP. Sounds very familiar.

Hernandez would definitely fetch a good return. It's hard to know who to write off at this point with the RISP problem. But they do need to bring someone in who produces in the clutch. Springer makes the team so much better partially because of such a quality. I'm presuming Springer's #s in the clutch are solid.

The game is also going to be closer because Montoyo in his wisdom puts in both Palacios and Smith into the lineup. That isn't necessarily a formula for getting a stagnant offense going. But maybe he figures he needs to stir it up to get something going.

Stop me if I’ve said this before, but I’m not sure why the Jays are pulling their starters at 85 pitches when the bullpen blows every game.

Taking Matz out after 85 pitches even had the Tigers broadcasters confused.

Can’t believe I’m saying this, but why is Grichuk not playing? Ugh.

Why are the Jays playing a minor league scrub who isn’t any good at CF in games that presumably matter to them over Randal Grichuk?

I can only presume the Jays don’t really give much of a **** to be starting guys like Palacios in these games.

Brutal defense there but why even take Cimber out? Cause of a light hitting pinch hitter to start the inning?

You don’t make an all or nothing play with none out in the bottom of the 8th of a tied game, when you have two acres of grass backing you up.

its hard to be very confident in the potential success of the next few seasons if management are making decisions like this

They clearly just don’t give a **** at this point, right? The alternative is obviously worse.

Palacios can’t hit even in the minors so it’s unclear what he’s doing starting games that “matter.”

Kirk should have been hitting in this inning. Absurd that they went to Espinal over him.
