Re: Bulls Remaining Roster Spot Discussion
After acquiring DJJ, I was thinking of a trade possibility with Memphis.
T. Brown Jr for PF J. Hernangomez and SG S. Merrill + a future 2nd,
It helps Memphis with their roster crunch and J. Hernangomez (was drafted org. by Denver) was told not even to report to Memphis.

I'd be all for adding Juancho if Memphis is straight up dumping him (which seems likely), but I'm not giving up TBJ for him. Seems kinda hard to find a fair deal for both sides to me.

Yeah, honestly, why would you even suggest Valentine? Like he is a known quantity who hasn’t improved in the least or shown consistently other than being a senseless, selfish, and grossly ineffective offensive chucker and a complete joke on defense. He literally did nothing but steal shots on offense that could have gone to other, better players. I have not witnessed worse on-court awareness or basketball sense on anybody wearing a Bulls uniform outside of the park. There are hundreds of G-League guys who are more focused and talented than Valentine if you just want somebody to hit an open jumper or make an entry pass. I don’t believe he possesses the level of skill to earn a Euroleague or Australian basketball contract. Even Felicio is a largeish body. Like; I don’t see how Valentine continues as a pro without going to China. His qualities as a hooper are on par with his rapping skills or value in the drew league. I am so glad we’ve shed that hapless and embarrassing nobody to be honest.

You have to assume that is part of his plan. I assume at the least Coby and the pick are going to be shopped.
This is something I feel we all starting to learn about AKME, getting trades done and salary management are 2 things that really stands out about them or how they do things. Maybe it's just me but I'm feeling like AKME has been doing all these moves with consideration that they can easily as well to flip all these assets into tradable package when they need to. Yes they value Zach, DD, and Vuc, as core players, but somehow I feel that they're not the type that's going to fall in love too much with the player they picked or signed. This is different than past regime that would be "too loyal" to a fault. I know that sounds weird for a franchise that's been labeled 'not loyal' among players.
I'm just saying this because to me the media / pundits criticism on the Bulls is because their views on these moves is a bit too linear. While AKME is probably handling this like trading assets or maybe approaching this in a non-traditional way.

Sounds like Memphis may be negotiation a buyout with Hernangomez. No need to send an asset their way if that's the case. Just wait for it to happen then sign him once he's a free agent.

Wow - They stopped him from appearing in the olympics and now they're gonna cut him? T-Wolves did him dirty.

We have 13 players now right? So we can sign 1-2 more?
Do we still have any part of MLE or BAE or trade exception?

We have the BAE and we have a $5M TPE from the Daniel Theis S&T with Houston.

They didn’t want their trade asset to get hurt lol.LateNight wrote:drosestruts wrote:Pax for Prez wrote:After acquiring DJJ, I was thinking of a trade possibility with Memphis.

Re: Bulls Remaining Roster Spot Discussion
But of a deep dive on some guys:
John Henson - 30 years old, last seen with the Cavs/Pistons in 2019-20 season. long, springy, shot-blocking big.
Meyers Leonard - Dissapeared last year after saying a Jewish slur on a live stream while playing video games. Some off-court baggage in bringing him in, but an athletic 7-footer capable of spacing and shooting the three. Still just 29.
Marquese Chriss - played well with the Warriors in 2019-20. Broke his leg last year. Not sure where he's at in his recovery.
Michael Beasley - Played with Portland in the summer league. 12 point sper game, 45% from 3 in summer league.

Have we heard anything about any camp invites? When does training camp start anyway?

Simmons is the big story obviously, but Shams also mentions the Bulls being interested in Millsap in this.

Henson seemed done the last that was seen of him in the NBA, but the "old" John Henson, who was pretty similar to Taj, would be near ideal.
Other guys in the Henson mold would be: DJ Wilson (young guy who flashed some as a reserve for the Bucks but then regressed and was moved), the aforementioned Chriss, Jordan Bell, maybe Trevor Booker if he can still play (may have gone over to Europe, but was solid enough his last year in the NBA a couple of years back, but now 33). Quincy Acy is a smaller 4 who hasn't played in a couple of years, but also only 30 (about to turn 31) and while his roles downgraded and he eventually left the league, when he was in a few years back was very similar to James Johnson in current years - active, shot blocking, 3 point shooting bench energy combo-forward.
Leonard's idiot slur-blurt-out I think has been moved on for (he's done some work on that end to show some sensitivity) - but I'm not sure that he has any switchability or would be an upgrade over Simonovic.
Beasley is a team culture issue - but he has offensive talent for the right team. Kind of similar to Jabari Parker (whose on the Celtics on a vet min deal).

Millsap would fit really nicely. He's not as switchable as we might like at this point in his career, but he's a bull and would provide necessary veteran leadership, along with productive bench minutes, at both the 4 and in some situations at the 5.
I think the add would be really good for the lockerroom.

Re: Bulls Remaining Roster Spot Discussion
all in for Meyers Leonard too...
Dude was solid for the Heat a couple years ago...A very good backup plan if Vuc goes down with an injury. Local kid.
Bring him home AK!
