If Embiid gets us a ring, I am convinced there will be a Disney movie made about him.

My question is, who in the world would be tall enough to play him in a movie except Joel himself? lol

The negotiation was probably 5 years without options or 4 years with a player option after 3. He will likely opt out after 3 (if he's still all star level) and then sign a 5 year contract.

More reason to trade for Dame or to pair Biid for a top tier star.

I’d prefer handing him this contract AFTER we had landed Dame or some top tier star.

But i dont know the story behind the curtain nor do i have a crystal ball to say which move was right.

Good for Joel. I remember screaming at my TV pick him with the 3rd pick pick him.

Then all the rumors that he wanted to be in LA, he would never play, and he was a Shirley temple addict.

Now he wants to be a 76er for life. Fantastic.

Worst contract in NBA history. Glad he fleeced Josh Harris though.

Here's another in the regular series Examples of Embiid Excellence.

This is multi-year playoff LEBRON data going back to 2014. Specifically, it's sets of 3 years of data ranked.

Out of 2347 entries, Embiid's 2017-19 playoffs and 2019-21 playoffs ranked second and third on the list respectively, only behind Kawhi's 2017-19.

At the very end of the list, Montrezl Harrell claims the bottom 2 spots with his play the last four seasons. Dwight Howard, Amir Johnson, Matisse Thybulle, Shake Milton, and Josh Richardson are near the bottom as well.
jonjames is a signature bet welcher.

Ben Simmons Archetype : Roll + Cut/ Roll + Cut/Big

I think this metric system is telling us something maybe we should try it more lol

Rewatch games the best play we don’t use enough involves Ben as the roll man big/playmaker from the post or high wing, and Embiid on the outer.
Two man style, Embiid as the big mammoth shield easy as pie.

Seen bigs that can pass and playmake but can’t shoot. It’s literally the best play for them and does generate good offense.

Helps to have a guard that can set him up for it.

Also Ben middle finger, higher revolution and aim for the middle square on release and please use your knees and follow through. His FT’s are as much confidence as it is a whole technical fall apart. At his worst he just yanks it with no thought.

Not a great routine but Giannis is doo doo and he makes it work. Should really be 60-70% and 30% on 3ball if he actually was conscious of where it went wrong.

Embiid has massive impact even when his offense
is crap when he’s gassed lol

His scoring rate per 36 is up there with the very best ever.

So LEBRON tells us that Embiid has higher impact than expected, while Ben Simmons is overrated as usual, another proof that he is all flash with no substance.

What? Simmons grades out rather favorably.

A +1.80 from 2019-2021 which was higher than the LEBRON Devin Booker just put up for his 2021 finals run and some other notable names, and a +1.53 from 2016-2018.

If anything it was another dagger into displaying how unimpressive Tobias Harris is.

His highest 3 year stretch was a +0.97 from 2017-2019, which only encompasses his 2019 playoff run with us. He missed the playoffs the two prior years.

When you include 2020 (his 2018-2020 split) he scores out a -0.61. So he was abysmal vs Boston to take his 0.97 and turn his overall rating comfortably negative.

One more years worth of Tobias data, and three playoff runs in Philadelphia, 2019-2021; Tobias Harris scores a -1.48... (Ben: +1.80 over that same stretch). So he's literally getting worse with increased responsibility.

Role player on an inflated contract.

Everybody agrees that Harris is overpaid and mediocre. Not so much with Ben, with some people insisting we would be so bad without him.

You're so consumed with Simmons hatred that you believe that anyone suggesting that Harris should be the first to go is a de facto praising of Simmons.

I think that most of us here would like to move Simmons, but not just give him away. Trading Harris for a better fitting piece, even if it isn't necessarily earth shaking, is the fastest way to improve this roster, but it doesn't preclude moving Simmons at some point.

Clearly declining as a shotblocker

Just kidding. Still an elite defensive player and would pick him on defense even against Gobert

Embiid is the best paint anchor in the league imo. He's arguably the best offensive and defensive player walking right now.
