I think a lot of this is what other teams GM's are feeding to put pressure on a trade.

none of this is new news lol

i swear I have read these articles for the past month lol.

"Sixers might trade Ben"

Then

"Sixers are fine with keeping Ben....really they are. Trust me bro"

Then

"Anonymous Source who is totally not trying to trade for Ben: Sixers kinda have to trade him soon yo..because..the implication"

Then

"Sixers will only trade Ben for God himself...and they'd have to add in Jesus to make it even".

Been the same song and dance....shut up until something happens lol. These leverage battles aren't even that good lol.

Ben is going to ball out this season. 2 3's a game. At the deadline the 76ers will be in first place. And a trade for Ben will come through that we just can't resist. The trade will be made and the 76ers will be a first round exit and the fans will say we should have kept Ben.

Or

A trade offer will come though at the deadline but Ben will be playing so well and the 76ers will be in first place in the east that Morey will decided against it. Saying with a good playoff showing we can make that trade and maybe a better one in the off season. The playoffs start Ben Simmons reverts to his playoff norm the 76ers lose in the first round and all the trades for Ben dry up.

It's our destiny.

Or we'll trade him to the Kings before the season, average close to a triple double, all the Simmons fans will laugh and make fun of the Sixers as they barely make the playoffs and get obliterated by the Clippers in the first round. Then their retort will be "lol m8, he almost averaged a triple double and make the all star game!"

I do not believe there is a will issue here. There is a deal to be made for Ben that will give you enough value to help now and so that if another star player comes available used you can go get them at a later time.

I think the problem here is a skill issue. Morey seems fixated on only getting another star right now for Ben, and that is just not realistic. Have to change your target.

Training camp opens in 4 weeks.

Ben leading the Kings of all teams to the playoffs wouldn't be an indictment of his talent? This post sounds personal.

I mean, it's my personal experience that Ben is above reproach to many on this board and regardless of what he does on his next team, his fans will either make excuses or come to gloat on his behalf. I, personally, would love to see him succeed despite making zero attempts to improve on his game with our organization. I wish all players the best on securing bags and being the best version of themselves, so I have no personal issues with Ben.

It’s the universe playing a silly joke on our Sixers team over this half decade lol.

Why would Raptors trade Van Vleet for Beasley (who has no value with his attitude problems) + salary filler in Prince and Read who also has no value as a backup C?

I predict Ben's athleticism regresses a small amount, again. Mid career crisis.

My eye test last season suggests he looked sluggish off the mark which lead to missed opportunities and added turnovers.

Soon enough, he himself will feel like he's wearing a fatsuit and know he can't keep relying on potential and athleticism alone.

I'd rather Morey wait this out than trade for pennies on a dollar. Simmons has not met expectations for us, but that doesn't mean he isn't one of the most valuable available trade chips. If he starts the season with us, I don't see his value becoming any lower than it is now.

I think it's wise to wait for Dame to try and shake free from Portland. That being said, this makes the Harden "miss" that much more painful. Top-15 players become available infrequently, and if we want to win a chip with Embiid, we'll need one of those IMO.
2025-2026 Philadelphia 76ers:

Maxey/McCain/Lowry
Edgecombe/Grimes/Gordon
George/Oubre/Edwards
Bona/Watford/Barlow
Embiid/Drummond/Broome
