I find Toronto’s name interesting. I know it’s phrased as if they are a Simmons’ suitor but there may not be a roster less constructed for Simmons. Besides Siakim being there, they just drafted a player with essentially the same strengths and weaknesses as Simmons at pick #4. There inclusion indicates to me that they may be willing to be the third team. But is that involvement minor (Dragic) or more major (FVV or Siakim)?

Minnesota isn't trading Russell and creating a massive hole at PG. I don't see McDaniels being offered either. Toronto makes a good 3rd team though.

I don't see Russell being included in any package for Simmons but if Rosas and Finch truly believe in Simmons, they'll include McDaniels and won't look back. That doesn't mean that I'd be happy about it. If it's 3-way deal with PHI, TOR and MIN, this would be the logical building blocks considering PHI will need a PG:

MIN in: Simmons & &oucher
PHI in: Siakam & Dragic
TOR in: Beasley, McDaniels, Reid & three (3) FRP's (MIN - 2 & PHI - 1)

Matching salaries could be a struggle, though.

I was playing around with Philly getting both Siakam and either FVV or Dragic, but I don’t see how salaries work unless Philly really blows it up and sends out Harris with Simmons, which I don’t see happening.

You can’t have two basically toxic contracts like Dlo and simmons on the same team, dlo has to go if Simmons comes in.

If Simmons can bring back that much we should just trade Towns.

If you trade DLo for Simmons you have no realistic pathway to replace DLo's talent level or fill PG with starter level talent...you are just stuck with Simmons at that point. By replacing DLo with Simmons you are just creating a poor imitation of PHI which isn't good enough. This is pretty obvious at this point DLo isn't happening. Simmons needs to be your 4th or 5th option to be successful and a team isn't walking out of a trade without this being the end result.

I'd rather keep DLO if we're going to be giving up Mcdaniels & Beasley as well.

I'd actually want to see this team all together healthy and under a real coach like Finch.

I doubt we are willing to part with McDaniels either.

Beasley, Naz, Useful Expiring and a 1st.

Mark my word:

The ONLY way a deal gets done is if McDaniels is in it.

Siakam to PHI, Simmons to MN, McDaniels (and Beasley and picks) to TOR.

I believe that’s the framework of the deal.

Beasley isn’t valuable enough to be the centerpiece.

Each team still needs a PF.

As much as I hate it, I generally agree with you about McDaniels.

I disagree about the framework of the deal though. I think Tobias Harris’ best position is PF. Adding Siakam is a better fit than Simmons, but not great.

I hear you about Harris but I don’t think that will hold up the deal.

Unless Philly wants FVV. Good luck. Then TOR rolls with Siakam and less need for McD inclusion. I find that unlikely.

McD - Siakam - Simmons

That’s the start of a deal!

Who thinks Beasley is a centerpiece? This is the wolves the future picks are the main pieces!

Maybe in your opinion. If it works out those are non-lotto picks. Big if, I know.

Do you think McD is or isn’t included? Let’s get that out of the way.

Philadelphia has managed pretty dang well with Harris and Simmons contracts. If we could be remotely close to Philadelphia's success post Simmons trade, i'd think we did something right.

Toronto would want Reid.

Beasley, Naz, Prince and 1st to Toronto is the framework I predict.

Who has a higher ceiling, McD or Reid, i.e. what asset has the most value, McD or Reid?

Toronto has put the siakam rumours to rest (for now). They are going to wait and see how he does when he comes back from injury and decide again come trade deadline whether to trade him or not. Wolves will need a different 3rd team to pry Simmons loose from Morey.

You probably can get away with it since Russell's contract will expire before Edwards gets expensive.

Wrong. Neither of the contracts are toxic and the wolves could easily have both Simmons and Russell.

Which is why he needs to be added to Kat, DLo and ANT at minimum or we became Philly at best. Might as well put Simmons on the market the second you get him, because we know that is not a winning formula.

What. The. ****.

The 76ers have been HCA playoff team 3 of the last 4 years. They’ve never finished below the 6th seed in that span.

We’ve made the playoffs once in like 17 years.

And you say we’d be like them as if it’s a bad thing? The hell is wrong with you?
