Re: Ben Simmons Trade Thread Part 4
I don’t want an established player for Simmons. I would much rather gamble on some tantalizing prospects and hope they take the leap.
Edit - What I mean is I don’t want a Malcolm Brogdon type who has no growth left in him. I want someone like Fox or Halliburton that could still make a leap.

Pro sports are more interesting than any sitcom. Literally what is about to happen next.

Because regardless of Simmons' flaws, he is their biggest trade chip. And if they can't get that co superstar in a deal with him, the Sixers are pretty much screwed. They have no other means to acquire one, and that puts a huge damper on their championship prospects. I'm sure Embiid can see the writing on the wall that the odds on him getting a title in Philly are slim, especially with that behemoth in Brooklyn.
Don't agree with this either.
Yeah, if we don't trade for an star to pair with Joel, this season is dead. But at least we are gonna regain cap flexibility. Given the current inflation on contracts, Tobias become at least a more reasonable contract to deal and is more tradeable next season with two years on his deal remaining (Specially given that the free agent situation is gonna be bad next season), we can also unload Danny if we want to make a big deal.
With our current young crop we have a lot of options going foward, specially as outside of Tobias we have such a better contract situation next season, Seth and Milton are on bargain deals for example. Issue is, this season can be a just a transition one and we, as every year, depend on what we get from Joe.
You can criticize Morey on how he has managed some of this deals, but he has drafted good or decent by the picks we had and the contract mess Brand left is gonna get cleaned, at least.
It’s not impossible they could get a superstar without Simmons, the question is, is it likely? I mean, the Sixers have never been an attractive destination for star free agents or trade candidates. Harden was like the only one who wanted to come to Philly.
But one thing is for certain. The chances of getting one today are significantly less than they were a few months ago. And when your best player is a big man with an injury history and you want to maximize his prime, that’s certainly not good any way you slice it. The Sixers have a small window and they need to capitalize on it and every year that goes by one key opportunity slips away.

Not hapenning, team is still paying the remaining of Brett's contract and Doc has 4 more years in his own contract.
Even if Morey wanted to fire him i doubt ownership is willing to pay for 3 Coaches

I thought some of the deals were acceptable, depending on what you believe.
I don’t have any interest really in taking Wiggins or a collection of role players, but there were rumored deals were we get Sexton, Halliburton, Fox, etc. If we can get a young guy with some potential to be our perimeter scorer, and free up some cap space, it seems better than letting Ben’s value possibly get lower.
I think Ben shows up to get paid, but we might start seeing injuries like when Butler and AD wanted to be traded. He starts missing extended time. Fans will boo him. He will play worse because he can’t handle the pressure.
I think getting a decent return a few weeks ago and moving on probably would’ve yielded a better return than waiting for him to improve his value. I could be wrong, but I just am pessimistic that Ben will increase his value.
Sexton and players like that are kind of garbage in my mind, Sexton is also close to getting a new contract which also would force us to max him.
I feel like if Halliburton and Fox were really on the table, a deal would have been made. But i don't know, if that return was there and Morey didn't get the deal done, yeah, he deserves the criticism.
Halliburton is specially attractive because he's on a rookie deal that allows to get more deep for our roster if we dump Hield and the other trash the Kings send us. And we can give him a new deal when Tobias get out of the books

The league needs to have another lockout and take some of the power back.

Well we're in a bit of a predicament here. I couldn't give a **** about Ben but losing Maxey w/ him is gonna be tough to recover from. We're prohibited from acquiring talent from the biggest agent in the world.
Thank god our star doesn't even have an agent.

If there's a "high chance" Maxey is in a Ben Deal, Dumas must have some information on a Lillard trade.
As a matter of fact, he's full of **** and knows knowing.
Lol at freaking out at Jason Dumas and Keith Pompey "reports." Two massive hacks.

If Ben really is on the mindset of no showing up for summer camp, he's decreasing his value even more. He has no leverage too, so i guess that's his choice but what a stupid decission

Re: Ben Simmons Trade Thread Part 4
Let me say, i love Maxey but if this **** is real, he's a colossal idiot.
With Ben out he has the chance of his life to capitalize in his potential and be a wing for a team with a desperate need for perimeter scoring.
If he follows Ben he's not only starting from the bench as Ben's gonna force his spot as a PG, he could not even see the floor for a season or two depending on which team Ben gets traded to.

Rich Paul can go suck an egg through his azzhole.
You will absolutely not get Maxey if we're not getting a superstar. God I hate Ben Simmons and Rich Paul!
