I forgot Sean Payton was our QB during the Spare Bears/Strike Season.
I always remembered Mike Hohensee who went on to coach the Chicago Bliz IIRC and won a title.

Erik Kramer (RIP), Curtis Conway and Jeff Graham was the best QB/WR combo I remember.
McMahon to Will Gault was pretty sweet, but Grahm and Conway were amazing that one season!

Erik Kramer being the best (okay 2nd best) Bears qb of my lifetime holds him dear to my heart. Your RIP scared me. hes still alive.

The Patriots are going with Mac Jones in a big way- they just cut Cam Newton, who didn't do himself any favors my missing a bunch of time with Covid (after deciding not to get the vax).

I always thought Dennis McKinnon was a better WR than Willie, although Willie did produce some big plays due to his speed. What a shame they could not keep that team together longer. ANd keep McMahon healthy. What might have been. Even when all the other pieces were in place, the Bears still couldn't find the QB they needed.

Rodney Adams made the team!

Hopefully Dazz clears waivers and makes it to the practice squad. I liked him.

Hoping they can trade any of our TE's for another left tackle.

I've been all aboard the Fields train since draft night. But my Bears/Pace pessimism + Mac's preseason performance does have a little nugget of worry in my head that we "did it again". But my overarching Field's enthusiasm is drowning that little debbie downer voice out still.

Mac is with a far better organization. That matters.

Absolutely That has a major impact especially for a rookie QB. They were also more decisive in going with him, which the Bears likely should be with Fields.

And this moment, no. Jones has his limitations. The Patriots are great at getting the most out of players, and they're system has always relied more on short, precise passing than deep passing. But really, it's anyone's guess how any rookie QB is going to pan out. Jones could be a HOF'er, and then everyone will be saying again how Beliceck outsmarted the league yet again. His decision to go with Cam last year didn't work out so well though. But people will forget all about that if Mac Jones is the real deal. Just like how they'll forget about him using a first round pick on Sony Michel, who only lasted 2-3 years for them.

Does Cam Worell know what players are saying in the locker room? Or is he just projecting? From what I've heard, Dalton is well liked by his teammates, and there probably won't be a lot of dissension until he goes 1-4 or 0-3.

I think of all the teams that drafted a QB in the first round, the 49'ers right now might be the only ones really second guessing themselves. And even then, it's way too early. But Trey Lance has looked pretty raw, and he will likely ride the bench the whole year unless Jimmy G. gets hurt. For what they gave up to get him, and the others they passed on to take him, I'd be a bit nervous if I was a 49''er fan.

They have a direction and they aren’t afraid to take it. And they will be decisive in following through. That’s a winners mentality.

He's spent 6 years of his life in an NFL locker room and has seen Andy Dalton play for the past 10 years.

If it were up to the players, I'm extremely confident that his fellow teammates would *respectfully* tell Andy Dalton to grab some pine and get out of Justin Fields' way because he's not on his level.

They've been absolutely terrible at drafting offensive talent since Gronk.

James White, Shane Vareen, Stevan Ridley are the only somewhat relevant WR/TE/RBs in ten years.

Hard no.

Jones is starting because Newton pissed Bellichek off one too many times and the Pats are willing to adjust their offense to fit what Jones can do. Nagy has made it abundantly clear that "our (his) offense" is paramount. My speculation is that Nagy believes that Dalton can effectively run 90-100% of his offense and Fields, at this point, can only run 70% or so. More speculation: the key thing is that, unlike how Nagy viewed Trubisky, Nagy believes that Fields will eventually be able to run our/his offense. When, in Nagy's opinion, Fields can run our/his offense to an acceptable degree, Fields will be given the job.
Until the actual truth is more important to you than what you believe, you will never recognize the truth.

Roster is completed. Bears are carrying 5 TE's. Graham, Kmet, James, Horsted, and Holtz. Holtz is more of TE only in name I guess, functionally he's probably more like a Fullback.
