Packers/NFL Prediction Thread - LAST CHANCE

Post#1 » by MickeyDavis » Mon Aug 30, 2021 12:43 am

This will lock on the Thursday of the season opener.

Be as detailed as you wish. Or just the Packers. I will do a more detailed prediction later.

The Packers are loaded. No doubt. Replicating 13-3 of the past 2 years will be a challenge (yes I know there are 17 games this season). We have a tough (on paper) schedule. NFC West + AFC North + KC. Vikings get Carolina, Dallas, Chargers instead of our Saints, Washington and KC. Bears get Raiders, Bucs, Giants.

Obviously injuries will factor in. They always do and are unpredictable.

I'm going with 12-5, division winner. SB Champ.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I'll go 12-5 too (The obvious caveat is Rogers playing all the games)
Division Winner.
SB Winner over the Browns
Packer MVP - Rogers
Packer DPOY - Alexander
Packer ROY - Myers

12-5 superbowl W.

MVS is going to come up big once or twice in a playoff game.

My heart says the Packers will win 14 games; but I'd feel like a fool to make such a bold prediction. It's hard to win week after week and the rest of the NFL will be making their best effort against the Packers, since they seem like a Super Bowl favorite.

So I took a long, slow look at the Packers' schedule - and I love having a relatively late BYE week. There are few games where I would expect the Packers to lose, arguably they might be, at this point, favored in every game. But maybe that's still my heart talking.

So I took a second look at the schedule and there are only a few games where I see the Packers potentially being upset. So I decided my logic is being pushed aside.
 My heart wins and I'll vote

Packers win 14 games or better!

13-4, Super Bowl loss to Chiefs.

I think our offense is loaded and poised for a huge year. Depth on the offensive line, at RB, at WR, and Rodgers saying all the right things. In MLF's offense we should be a juggernaut. I don't know anything about Joe Barry though, other than his history as a DC is abysmal. Expect teams to constantly pick on Kevin King/ Stokes.
Not convinced that we can stop the Chiefs and Mahomes, hope I'm wrong.

Think this team faces some more adversity and goes 11-6, but like the Bucks it toughens them up for the postseason where they win it all

To stick with the Bucks theme, they get the 3rd seed

13-4. Lose SB to Bills because Sconnie can’t have it all.

EDIT:

REVERSING COURSE!

13-4. Win SB to Bills because Sconnie have it all.

I have a bad feeling about this season but what the hell it worked for the Bucks so I'll predict Packers over the Cheifs in the SB.

13.8125 wins, 3.1875 losses. must maintain the same winning percentage every season (or one game gets cancelled due to covid). Aaron breaks a big toe in the NFC game. Love leads team to Super Bowl win.

With how garbage our division is we should hit 12/13 wins no problem.

If the D can take a leap we should win it all.

Minnesota should be better this year. Besides that, the Packers play

At San Fran
Pittsburgh
Washington
At Arizona
At Kansas City
Seattle
LA Rams
At Baltimore
Cleveland

That is an absolutely brutal out of division schedule, probably the toughest in the league. Talent wise, i see

Tampa Bay
Green Bay
LA Rams

As the three best teams in the NFC, but the Packers record only being say 11-6 or 12-5 simply because of that schedule.

11-6. Distractions lead to a slow start, but strong close. Loss in road NFCCG, where defense overachieves relative to season, but still doesn't make the necessary plays down the stretch.

Hope I'm wrong.
