Looking at their roster, it's clear that any trade would need to return a point guard. If I'm the Sixers the goal would be to get the BPA. Unless Dame requests a trade in the coming days they probably need to look elsewhere.

Fox, Sexton, D-Lo, D Murray, FVV, J Murray & Brogdan are some names worth throwing up as targets. Fox/D-Lo/J Murray would more or less be straight swaps with pick attachments. some other ideas:

Cleveland:
Cavs Out - Sexton, Okoro, Rubio
Sixers Out - Simmons, Maxey

Indiana:
Pacers Out - Brogdan, Lavert
Sixers out - Simmons

Toronto:
Raptors Out - FVV, OG
Sixers Out - Simmons, Maxey

I think the most likely is a trade for Fox, That will be easy to sell to both sets of fanbases once the trade is finalized.

From draft night it looks pretty clear to me that Presti is willling to wait and build through the draft. I like Simmons a lot and a SGA/Simmons duo is pretty sweet but we lack talent so getting him will only hurt our 2022 pick (which is lotto protected) so I would rather pass.

It has to be Philly, right? I can't imagine he has much trade value to other teams.

They're likely going to trade him West:

The top 3 are:
Sacramento: Fox straight up?
Portland: CJ straight up?
Minnesota: Beasley/Prince/2023 1st/2025 1st/2027 1st?

Darkhorse:
Toronto: Dragic/Boucher/2022 1st/2024 1st/2026 1st

Likely trade:

To Philly
-Beal

To Washington
-Beasley
-Prince
-2022 Philly 1st
-2023 Minnesota 1st
-2023 Atlanta, Charlotte or Brooklyn 2nd (most favourable) via Philly
-2025 Minnesota 1st
-2027 Minnesota 1st
-2028 Philly 2nd

To Minnesota
-Simmons

I’ve gotta say, the results of the poll intrigue me - not because I think the 2 teams “leading” the poll after the first 47 votes have aren’t the 2 best choices, but because they aren’t what most of the chatter usually is around. It shows me that the folks who voted in this poll aren’t necessarily the ones who write a lot in the threads……
If I don't have anything funny to say, can I still have a signature?

I can't see any trade without one of their three main guys (Siakam, OG, FVV). This is the kind of return you look at if you want to rebuild (expiring contracts & Picks) but not when you're contending.

Doesn't feel like OKC would offer the right stuff, since I'm guessing they're not offering SGA, and Morey would probably prefer an otherwise more win-now package than their offer. But would still consider that an outside possibility.

Denver, I just don't see the purpose. Their current stars fit beautifully, and Simmons would be a little awkward with Jokic.

Feels like it almost has to be one of Sac, Indiana, Toronto, Portland, Minnesota, or GS.

For Sac, it likely comes down to whether they'd deal Fox. I don't think they would, but I could be wrong.

Outside of that, it's hard to see where they're getting their lead playmaker, depending on how they'd feel about Brogdon, McCollum or FVV in that role. All are very good players, but lead playmakers on a championship team? One could argue no, and that all are better off in a secondary role. But also depends on how Morey sees it.

I like the idea of Simmons in OKC. It might be best overall situation for him to regain confidence and pair with a guy like SGA for Presti to build around. If the goal if to use Giddens, you're probably look at a framework of 6 picks going to Portland

ie.
Part 1:
-Philly sends 2028 2nd for small amount of cash to OKC to defer 2025 1st they owe until 2026.

Part 2:

To Portland
-Josh Giddey
-2022 Philly 1st
-2023 OKC 1st
-2024 Philly 1st
-2025 OKC 1st
-2026 LAC 1st via OKC
-2027 OKC 1st

To OKC
-Simmons

To Philly
-Lillard

Sure perhaps Dragic/Anunoby is a more appealing package. FVV/Trent/Barnes/Siakam/Simmons would be a fun starting 5.

OKC wouldn’t trade Giddey for Simmons. I’d trade the above picks without Giddey.

That's a very interesting trade, they would get a playmaker and have OG take Simmons matchups on the defensive end.

Shai and Simmons is a super interesting young combo. With Dort they'd have a pretty nasty perimeter defense

TOR/PHI/DAL - Simmons

Post#874 » by Tor_Raps » Tue Aug 31, 2021 11:37 pm

Honestly, this isn't the greatest return for Philly but this would probably be the best the Raptors would do.

Toronto Trades:
Fred
Boucher
Dragic
2 lottery protected 1sts
Toronto Receives:
Simmons
Moses Brown
Powell

Philadelphia Trades:
Simmons
Philadelphia Receives:
Fred
Boucher
Burke
2 Lottery Protected 1sts (Toronto)
2nd Rounder (Mavs)

Dallas Trades:
Powell
Moses Brown
Burke
2nd Rounder
Dallas Receives:
Dragic

If they're keeping KAT and ANT who the heck are they trading for him?
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Seems both teams have a lot of pressure on them to pull off a Beal/Simmons deal - if he'll go there.

I value OG more than Simmons at this stage. This could be OG's breakout year. Barnes/Siakam/Simmons frontcourt is a disaster on offense.

Wouldn't having Giddey on the team with Simmons just hurt his exposure/development?

I kind of think you want to move one for the other to maintain value but sure, I think Philly would just take picks.
