This tweet shows the biggest contrast between Embiid and Ben. Embiid may love playing with Ben, but who does he place the most blame for the team not advancing in the playoffs on? Himself.

This is also true though.

If Ben wanted to stay, or was with this team, he could just say so, and put this all to rest.

Embiid is a selfless individual, who realizes what leadership looks like. He always takes the blame when the team doesn't perform, instead of blaming others. Love this man.

TBF Ben doesn't really tweet and most of IG post are basically self promotion for his brand

Basically Jo is saying. I am a man. I can take the boos and grow from it. Ben is soft and takes everything personally....if he came back you...the fans would be too hard on him, because you know he has not worked on his game.

Just read Kyle Neubeck's article and he quoted a Jackie MacMullan interview with Ben:

One notion the young Sixers star doesn't mind sharing: He craves being challenged, even admonished. He knows he needs it, even though he wishes he didn't.

"My weakness," Simmons says, "is I need to have someone make me accountable. The goal is to be accountable to myself.

"That's been a bit tough. It takes time."

He **** the bed in a playoff series, fails to take a shot in a crucial moment, is held accountable, wants to leave. Nice!

Embiid is absolutely right about this. Philly fans have got to do better with the way they/we are handling this situation. The difference between Embiid and Simmons is that Embiid can take the criticism, he can take the heat and use it as motivation whereas Ben cannot. That's the difference between those two and it's basically night and day. If an ultimatum was created, then it was created by Simmons and his camp, but I don't personally believe there was one. I think this simply comes down to Ben not really ever wanting to be here and now having an opportunity to get out. Anyone with half a brain knew that he would never finish his career as a Sixer. Once his contract was up, he was going to go anyway. I hate that it's ending on these terms, but at this point he needs to be traded. The media certainly has their part in a lot of this as it's all just a big circus act, but now this has created a situation where it DOES need to be resolved as quickly as possible. I say deal with the Kings and be done with it.

You know the more I think about it. Ben wants a trade not because of what was said by Doc and Embiid. He wants a trade because he is afraid of the fans backlash that he will have to face during the regular season.

Jo would have never defended Tobias Harris like that. Talent recognize talent.

Yeah, I don't think this is Jo being mad at us. I think this is Jo knowing that this is a tough city to survive in, but coming from the background that he comes from he's up to the challenge. His father was a military officer in Yaoundé, Cameroon. Not exactly a vacation paradise to grow up in. I think when you get down to the person, you have to always take a look at upbringings. I'm willing to bet top dollar that Ben Simmons has been silver spoon fed his entire life where Embiid hasn't.

Part of the charm in Philadelphian's diseased minds are their propensity to being as awful as possible in the realm of sports. There's no changing this town.

Ben's in for a big surprise if he thinks that fans of other teams have been easier on him.

Doc and Brown are terrible coaches for Ben (same with the management). It’s his fault in the end.

The left/right hand thing and other in house stories haven’t been fully fleshed out it might be years down the track.

Pat Riley or Pop would have made a monster or a person that would leave the game after a couple of years lol.

Now I'm all sorts of confused. Doesn't really make a difference. The damage has been done, fans will not welcome Ben back, and for that reason alone he needs to be traded. There is no way that Ben will be able to withstand Philly boos. And Bodner also confirmed the veracity of Pompey's claims by stating that he had sources that said similar thinks about Ben's unwillingness to report to camp.

I think he's talking about the Maxey stuff.

A lot of the talk around and here has been doom and gloom since the Ben report. I think as a player you can also get frustrated about how fans take adversity.

Prince+Beasley+Maxey to Sac
Buddy Hield and Jaden Mcdaniels plus 2 first and 1 2nd to Philly
Ben Simmons to Min.

Hield and Jaden McDaniels and draft picks would be a good haul for you guys. McDaniels is future 3D allstar.

The only thing that's funny is the kings and wolves that don't want to give up
any of there great players that can't even get them into the playoffs lol
simmons would get either team into the playoffs......

Return to Philadelphia 76ers
