Re: Brewers/Giants Series
Cool recognition for some Brewers by their peers.
Counsell voted best manager. Not surprising. Kirby Yates used to be my neighbor and he said players around the league absolutely love Counsell. Kirby is a great dude, super chill.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

If Yelich could move around the field as well as he does the bases that'd be great.

Part of me is thinking I should open a book and get to bed, the other part wants to see how much more hilarious this gets.

Watching the 7th. The guy on second is signaling the batters on every pitch. Narvy makes the call, guy signals Belt and then Narvy adds a second signal. Belt immediately calls time.
Posey up Narvy is setting up high, dude at second gives the nod, breaking ball away and
Posey swinging at a ball two feet off the plate.
Game within the game. Seems like great work by Narvy to spot it.

Offense giving Woody run support for a nice comfortable win, plus Boxberger, Williams and Hader all rested and ready for the next game.

Going in I was hoping for a split so another win or a sweep would be gravy. Unfavorable pitching matchups though.

I follow baseball league-wide probably too much for my own good, and I have had the flippant take that the Giants are doing some new sort of sign-stealing this year.
First off, I was buying them early this season because I liked the shrewd buy-low pitching moves and platoon offensive lineup they have. They clearly seem to be deep into pitching analytics to get the most out of guys like Gausman, Desclafani, etc.
That said - literally all of these guys are having career years at the plate. Posey is hitting like it's 2012 even though he had been just a guy since 2017.
Manual sign-stealing from 2B is kinda ethically fine, but it feels like there is something more to this.

Yeah, I don't watch enough baseball to know, but I could clearly see what was going on in the 7th last night. I think a look to third base meant slider, nod up was either high fastball or fastball in general. And they were laying off pitches like they knew exactly what was going on. Until Narvy points at the guy at second, has a mound visit shortly thereafter and then they just started changing everything up. From there the Giants looked absolutely confused at the plate, so definitely think there is something going on there. Just not sure if it is bigger than what my eyes caught yesterday.

Dream start vs their top pitcher. Cain has been really heating up lately gotta admit i thought he was done but man if he can find the magic for one more postseason.
