The one common factor that most DPOY players (especially front court players) share is that they were very very durable in their prime. Mutombo, Ben Wallace, Rodman, Bobby Jones, Bill Russell, etc. all rarely ever missed games nor were they injured for long periods of time in their prime years. Every one of these guys took extreme care of their bodies. Mitch hasn't shown that durability to say the least. Part of it very well could be work ethic.

I guess that’s why they signed him to a 3 year deal this off-season. Oh wait all that was Nerlens. Mitch was busy shooting 40% from the free throw line and getting his truck modified so he can roll coal on whoever is behind him in the Burger King drive thru. He plays fortnite all night too.

Jesus Christ just stop it. Enough with these piece together narratives. Mitch had two injuries last yr. He hurt his hand while getting tangled up with Randle. It was nothing more than a bad break that wouldn't have happened if he weren't hustling for the ball. Then he came back and just happened to land on someone's foot causing him to break his own foot. These are event based chitty luck situations. Tragedies is probably the better word. You can't always explain everything.
When Mitch is on the floor he's our best defender by a large margin and one of the leagues best defenders. Last time I checked anybody can score, it's defense that proves you put in effort. Stop with the effort questions. Immature? OK to a certain extent but there's nothing he's done on the court that would indicate he doesn't put in effort. Fans are seemingly butthurt because of his choice of agent........for some odd dumb reason. Idc, it's an offcourt business decision. He could change agents every yr he's in the league it should have zero influence on what we feel about his game but I get it. We've all been conditioned to read tabloids and focus on everything around the actual game since 1999 cause that was the only thing to talk about. Meanwhile Noel is suing the agent Mitch last fired and people still holding it against Mitch. Just stop
His injuries were freakish tho. Its not like a frank or AD, Kyrie where they always have something that’s sore or bruised and have to sit and miss a bunch a games throughout the season. Mitch was just unfortunate last season.moocow007 wrote:Nazrmohamed wrote:moocow007 wrote:Let's hope so. But he has to remain healthy and show more intensity and focus.

COULD BE. Are you Mitch's agent? His dad? Little brother? BFF? I get it, you want to really believe the good. I hope that's right.
But honestly, why do you guys always do this to yourself? Setup crazy expectations and then flip and pummel the guy if/when he can't live up to it. You guys have any clue on how hard it is to win a DPOY?
And I'm the guy with the "pieced together" narratives. They freaking guy is just 22 and is coming off an injury plagued season. Looking like a Beast? Everybody can be made to look like a beast in highlight vids. If "looking like a Beast" is a portent of eliteness then we just drafted a future HOF in the bottom of the 2nd round.
But ok...why stop at DPOY? Keep going guys.

Yes the injuries, knock on wood, hasn't been recurring (in the sense that it's the same part of the body) but it has happened a lot and it COULD BE related to how he trains and prepares himself. I had mentioned before the season that Robinson looked a little out of shape. Then he gets injured and comes back and is injured again. That really was my point that based on perceived oddball behavior like switching agents and what happened before he was drafted mixed with the injuries. That's where I'm coming from.
