SHAMS: All Nets Players *Must* Be Vaccinated To Play Home Games
I am hoping that this becomes a non issue and that any vaccine hesitant player sits down with the team physicians to discuss and get this done.
Note to any non Net fan who comes on here from another board/fanbase to spew antivax propaganda: I will be reporting you to the mods if you even dare.

Do we know if there still are players holding out from getting vaccinated for CoViD-19?

None that we know of at the moment.
KD and Harden are vaccinated from what I've read. Obviously the one player I'm concerned about vaccine hesitancy from doesn't need to be explained lol

Kai ate humble pie and took the L on the flat earth thing. Might have made him more skeptical of conspiracy theories. Then again everything is a slippery slope online nowadays. Researching a durable kettle is only a few clicks away from white nationalism.

The CDC's website is where people need to go. They break down everything about each vaccine, explain the differences, and go into detail on how they work to prime people's immune systems to respond to the virus. And they do it in a manner that is very easy to digest, so you don't have to be a rocket scientist to understand.
https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/keythingstoknow.html
Some things I point out to vaccine hesitant folks:
1) no one cares enough about you to implant a microchip into you. If they want to track you, your phone is right there. Stop listening to TikTok and Facebook memes.
2) they aren't trying to kill you, they want you to be protected so you can get back to work to keep the economic machine going. If there was ever an ulterior motive, there it is. They want your ass back to work. A diseased work force isn't a productive one.
3) vaccines do not make you immune to viruses, they ensure that your body can deal with them without killing you in the process.
4) Medical tech has advanced to the point where yes, it took just a year to research, develop, test and distribute a vaccine against the virus. It's not 1952, it is 2021, where we are close to having breaththroughs for vaccines for HIV and possibly Cancer, due to mRNA tech. Also, these studies had a sh*t ton of money put behind them. You want to know who actually helped in that regard? Donald Trump of all people. Google "Operation Warp Speed". Our government gave billions to J and J and Moderna to help move this along.
5) mRNA vaccines do not mess with your DNA. Anyone who tells you that doesn't know what they are talking about. Click the link above, where they go into detail about how mRNA vaccines work. That hippie chick on TikTok telling you otherwise is a lying ass hole.
I can go on, but really, enough is enough. People are dying in droves down in Georgia, Alabama, Texas, Florida etc because of disinformation. If you think that your age will protect you from this, think again. Lots of 20 and 30 year olds down south are getting put on ventilators. That's a death sentence.
Stay safe all.

There are legit reasons to be uncertain about the COVID vaccine (note, not vaccines, but specifically COVID). The COVID vaccine has been approved by the FDA for "Emergency use". This means it has been approved but has not passed through all phases of clinical trial and board reviews... which makes sense since its so urgent and that process takes 2-5 years.
We dont know the long term effects of the vaccine, which may be more complex given it is the first mRNA vaccine, which is a good thing overall since this is a medical breakthrough but again, unknown longterm/potential effects and maybe issues to iron out. We are still learning more about the vaccine. it seems its effectiveness may wain, requiring booster shot(s). Some digestive issues reported in a very small subset. there are worries about fertility for females, which as of now there is no basis for, but again, thats why they do long trials normally.
So if anyone is like, i dont know about this vaccine, because its using a new technology and didnt go through a full trial. i think thats completely reasonable and i would not hold it against someone to hold off on the vaccine until full FDA approval while they quarantine, mask up, and take additional precautious to protect those around them since they are unvaccinated.
I think it is beyond stupid for someone to be against the vaccine because "the virus is a hoax" "vaccines are a hoax" "MiCrOchIPs" or some white supremist/trump supporter related nonsense.
I'm vaxed and encourage everyone who is healthy enough to get it to do so. but i wont get on anyone who is waiting on full FDA approval/more data from the trials as to me, thats a reasonable concern. if that means they cant play basketball, they need to accept the risk vs. reward. hopefully it doesnt effect us.

Not an unreasonable position. Believe me, there is also a lot of distrust in the Black community towards the American Healthcare system (and rightfully so. It has abused us for decades) and I have had a horrible time trying to convince long time friends into getting vaccinated. I'm honestly very concerned for them because kids start school next week and the Delta variant is murdering unvaccinated folks left and right. I've honestly been mentally preparing myself for the actual possibility of losing more loved ones to Covid. The risk of catching Covid vs. Vaccination side effect risk is like playing Russian Roulette with a fully loaded revolver versus playing it with an empty paint ball gun.
Some quick notes:
-We are nearing almost 6 billion doses administered, not including boosters, here in the USA. The side effects reported have been so minimal, it makes zero sense at this point why someone would risk going unprotected versus Covid. It is practically suicidal.
-The fertility stuff in women is 100% not based in fact and originated from 4chan/anti vax propaganda.
-Also, a quick note, Pfizer's vaccine has full FDA approval as of last month, which also coincides with vaccinations rates starting to slightly uptick. Great news.
I implore anyone on the fence to please take this seriously and remove yourselves from these social media echo chambers that push propaganda and seek out information from accredited sources. These vaccines have been developed and tested by professionals who know more about infections diseases than any of us on this forum put together know. The notion that the vaccine is more dangerous than the virus is one that can get you killed. It's not worth it. Please

The Pfizer vaccine is now fully approved. Moderna likely won't be far behind. Vaccines pass out of your system so quickly that there's virtually no risk of long term effects. mRNA passes even quicker than a traditional inactivated virus. Any adverse effects will typically be seen within a couple weeks. It's very different than treatment medication that people take repeated, accumulating doses over long periods of time, e.g aspirin, NSAIDs, antibiotics, etc.
The need for boosters is not yet scientifically proven. Those that say effectiveness wains, point to antibody titers, but antibodies are just a part of the immune response. They're the pawns on the chessboard of immunology. If a booster is needed, it's more likely because of a variant that is different enough to require a modified vaccine.
That being said, I am pro-vax, but anti-mandates. No entity should have the authority to dictate what an individual person has to do to their own body. I reserve the right to think a person is an idiot but also has the right to be an idiot. I have a few family members that have not gotten vaccinated, including a few that got COVID. One cousin had it mild, so they all thought they were fine. Later his wife, 2 year old daughter and sister-in-law all got it. It hit the sister in law very hard. None were vaccinated.

Again, to be clear, im not against vaccines, even in the non-approved state. i think the risks and unknowns are minimal, especially vs the threat. I just feel there is a small subset of reasons as to why one may be hesistant
